I've been using Razer products for at least 15 years, and throughout all this time, I've had to literally fight your software just to get things working.
Not once have I ever experienced an update that actually made anything work better. This is absolutely ridiculous! I honestly can't think of a single other company with software this consistently terrible that seems to do absolutely nothing about it.
I've wanted to write this post for a long time, and I've finally reached my breaking point.
I put up with Synapse 2 for years, constantly trying to get automatic profile switching to work properly, only for it to keep breaking. Then I spent a long time dealing with Synapse 3, which couldn't even properly sync profiles across devices over the internet.
And now, after yet another update, Synapse can't detect my devices UNLESS I HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION.
What the actual hell, Razer?
The worst part is that it took me a while to figure out what was going on. For quite some time, I thought I was dealing with yet another random bug. Every time I booted my PC, your devices simply wouldn't work. I'd have to close all Razer applications and launch them again, and only then would the devices be detected.
And since I've grown so accustomed to Razer software behaving like this, I simply started doing it every single time I turned on my computer.
Then one day, my internet went down, and I discovered that restarting the applications no longer helped. The software simply couldn't detect a single device.
And then, when my internet connection came back — lo and behold! Everything was detected again.
So, apparently, the problem was that Razer applications were launching before my network connection was established.
What the actual fuck, Razer?
It's 2026. Artificial Intelligence is everywhere, and you still can't make your software work reliably?
The only reason I haven't thrown all your devices in the trash yet is that, over the years, I've accumulated a huge number of profiles for all the software I use. But even that is starting to feel like a minor inconvenience compared to the endless problems I have to deal with.
