Same issue here, but then when i started investigating, even the wireless started not responding.
I did removed the 2 problematic drivers in the device manager, nothing changed.
uninstalled Synapse, same problems.
uninstalled Vanguard, now wired works but wireless still a mess, i did update mouse firmware to latest.
Put Synapse back, nothing changed. So what the hell is going on here…

Appears to be tied to Riot Vanguard. Unistall the program, then reconnect the mouse and it should begin working again. May need a restart if not.

I didn’t uninstalled it but as soon as I turned it off it worked so it is related to that somehow.

Thanks for the help I’m always forgetting the problems that you get from Riot Vanguard software xD

I just don’t get it.
Same issue appeared yesterday (wired not work only, wireless completely fine)
Removed the 2 error drivers, nothing changed
Uninstalled Synapse, nothing changed
Uninstalled Vanguard, wired works back again, i managed to update firmware mouse
Reinstalled Synapse, nothing changed
I don’t know exactly when but as i was troubleshooting, the wireless kept being more and more unresponsive. It is now almost completely unresponsive. I’m stuck with wired…
Please i don’t know what is happening but fix this.

Another confirmation for this being an issue, popped up a few days ago with that ‘Driver Error’, and I wasn’t able to resolve it.

Exiting vanguard made my mouse work immediately..

Same for me.. Today i started the pc and wired didn’t work, but wireless did. I fixed it by:

Plugged in the Razer mouse wired
Plugged another random mouse in (which worked)

  1. Went to device manager
  2. Right clicked on all 3 of the “Razer Basilisk Ultimate” devices
  3. Pressed “Remove Device” and remembered to check of the delete driver button.
  4. After i did that to all the 3 “devices” for the razer mouse
  5. I unplugged and plugged it in again

And then it worked…
I hope some of you can fix yours by doing this :-)

Hey,

had the same issue.

Thought my mouse went broker over the night somehow, but after just closing vanguard and reconnecting the mouse, it started working again.

Rito is just a small indie company.

I uninstalled razor synapse and it fixed my issues. I then updated my mouse driver while wired in (didn't work while razor synapse was installed). Will try to reinstall synapse now and see if it works.

*edit* Razor synapse does seem to be the cause of the problem for me problem came back as soon as i installed it, I do play riot games so maybe its vanguard and its a combination of the two but i’m not uninstalling my game so Razor it is.

I was able to get both to work, recommend reaching out to “u/RazerCustAdvocacy” on reddit. The support team their was able to guide me through a lengthy process to get it to work. Including a script to remove a bunch of drivers, otherwise I would paste the process here.

This was also the problem for me too! I was starting to go crazy wondering why it randomly stopped working in the middle of a game on COD. Thank you!! You are a life saver. Also I was able to just exit out of riot vanguard in the carrot tab and that successfully made my mouse work again!!

I’m glad I found this thread, cuz holy smokes did uninstalling everything Riot related work. I also deleted everything relating to razer synapse files just to be safe. I thought I was going crazy and my basilisk ultimate broke all of a sudden.

Uninstalled Riot Vanguard. Mouse works

I can confirm that worked for me! Never installing Valorant or Riot again.

What worked for me:

  • Closed Vanguard (maybe closing only Synapse would work)
  • Was able to connect with cable
  • Updated mouse & dongle firmware (that closes all Razer apps)
  • Did a Windows update search, got an update for Razer HID driver
  • Rebooted
  • Mouse worked with both Synapse and Vanguard running, but DPI selector and scroll repeat didn’t work
  • Updated from Synapse 3 to 4
  • Another reboot and everything’s working again

Hope this helps someone.

My Razer Basilisk Ultimate mouse is having issues with being detected by Synapse/my PC when I connect the USB cable directly to the mouse. I found this out today because my mouse was low on battery and I wanted to charge it while still being able to use it by plugging the USB cable directly into it. My mouse was working just fine yesterday with a wired connection and this only started happening today. Now, if my mouse battery dies/runs low, then I have to stop using it and charge it wirelessly on the dock/via wired connection.

The mouse works just fine when the USB cable is connected to the dock while the USB dongle is inserted into it. It shows in my Bluetooth & Devices in Windows settings, in my Device Manager, AND in Synapse. But as soon as I unplug the USB cable and plug it directly into the mouse, then it says the mouse has a "Driver Error" in the Bluetooth & Devices in Windows settings. Device Manager doesn't list it under "Mice and other pointing devices" and 2 of the 3 "Razer Basilisk Ultimate" devices under "Human Interface Devices" say the driver failed to initialize. Synapse also does not show the mouse under "DEVICES."

I can still hear my PC making audible noises when I unplug the cable from the dock (device disconnected cue) and when I plug the cable directly into the mouse (device connected cue). Mouse is still getting power from the cable too as I can see the battery level increase after plugging the cable back into the dock and the mouse lights up while it's switched off.

Things I’ve tried and checked already:

  • Updated the drivers for USB dongle/dock
  • Tried using the Razer Mouse Pairing Tool
  • Tried using the Device Detection Troubleshooting Tool
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse 3
  • Uninstalled the “Razer Basilisk Ultimate” device in Device Manager and reinstalled it

I really think it’s a driver issue at this point after checking and trying all of these things, as I am unable to update the driver on the mouse itself. When I connect the mouse to my PC with the USB cable as instructed, Synapse/my PC doesn't recognize it so the green "UPDATE" button is just greyed out.

Any thoughts or troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated as this has become very frustrating all of a sudden and I really like my mouse.

I uninstalled vanguard and it did nothing. So I uninstalled razor synapse all together and now it works. But if I reinstall razor synapse it stops working again. So idk

Yo so the only thing that worked for me is uninstalling all razer stuff. Then plugging in and using dock works LOL, not razer software stopping us from using razer hardware XD.

UPDATE: reinstalled synapse and it stopped working againg LOL

uninstalling razer apps using a powerful uninstaller, and reinstalling after updating the firmware for the plug aswell as the mouse, and uninstalling riot vanguard worked for me.

Looks like vanguard is the problem. Just close Vanguard or uninstall it.

Uninstalled Vanguard and it works for me now, thanks.

Same happens to me, hope they fix it soon.

EXIT RIOT VANGUARD.

dont need to uninstall anything, dont uninstall drivers, synapse, or vanguard all a waste of time.

I legit just exited vanguard in the tray, and it instantly started working

It is 100% vanguard.  Once I uninstalled it I was able to update the firmware and now it works fine.

Holy shit, this worked! 100 percent! Thank you!
