wolverine v3 pro wont connect wireless

Hey I bought the controller for $315 CAD on vacation. Out of the box the controller looks/feels/handles great and I was super exited to get back and use it.

Once I got home I downloaded the app on my xbox and immediately had issues updating it to map the extra buttons.

Keep in mind the wireless function was working at this time.

It was the most difficult process to update. it would update, I would see the bar fill up then it wouldn't update at all (it would tell me the update worked but I couldny map any of the buttons still).

I spent a couple hours looking for fixes on reddit/YouTube/Razer forums and found tons of people having issues with this controller and eventually I found you could update it on the pc so I did I downloaded the Razer v3 pro firmware and went to the option to update dongle and controller. I got to the part where it asked me to press the function, x and start button at the same time and nothing would happen.

I eventually went to update the controller on it own to see if that was the issue and the controller updated fine and now I can map the buttons how I like...but now I can only use it wired that defeats the whole purchase.

Please help me solve this issue, I really want to love this controller but it's not making it easy, I have spent too much time trying to figure out something that should be so simple and intuitive.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing back.

Hello fastDeepMaroonpark216,

I’m here to help. I understand that your Razer Wolverine V3 Pro wont connect wirelessly after attempted to update it. Please help me answer the following question below so we can isolate the problem.

  • What firmware version is currently installed on your controller and dongle?
  • Have you tried using different USB ports on your PC for updating the controller and dongle?
  • Are there any potential sources of interference in your environment, such as other wireless devices or networks?
  • Is the controller fully charged when attempting to connect wirelessly?

Please do the step below to fix the issue:
1. Verify that the dongle is properly seated in its USB port and try different ports to ensure it's not a port-related issue.
2. Get the latest Windows update.
3. Ensure both the controller and dongle are using the latest firmware. Try updating both again, ensuring that the controller is fully charged during the process.

Should you need further help, feel free to send me a PM with your controller’s serial number and proof of purchase for warranty options. All the best!
