I have a 2019 15" i7 8750h with the rtx 2080, and I noticed the CPU would reach 100c and the gpu would stay below 80c while gaming, I Razer chat support was awesome to help me diagnose the problem, they had be update drivers, that didnt work so they decided to have me factory reset and that did not work as well, so they decided to RMA the laptop, I got the laptop back today and the cpu doesnt not reach that temperature no more! hits about mid 70c to high 70c. I am still waiting for them to tell me what they had to do to fix it, I think they replaced the board. but I will keep you all posted! SHOUT OUT TO Razer Support! keep it up!

Good to know. I’m looking hard at buying one soon and heat is a huge concern for me. My AW laptop stays in the 90s and hits 100 constantly where it thermal throttles. Been like this since day 1 and their support told me it’s operating within normal specs.

turns out they did not fix anything, they just turned off Turbo mode to keep temps down. If this is the only way to fix it, safe to say they just run hot!

I use throttlestop to undervolt and at times turn off turbo. Much of my tasks are such that I don't really miss the extra boost in horsepower but I do like the cooler temps 🙂

Yes intel cpu is running hot especially on this thin light categories, so Undervolting is needed which they do on 2019 v2 9750H. This’s because they’re lazy keeping skylake 14nm architecture and increasing the core clock, of course there’s some energy efficiency this and that compared to previous but look at amd with their ryzen, changed to 7nm (LoL it’s half current Intel H CPUs). However that’s cpu side this ryzen Mobile cpu has no 2080 options yet for whatever reason.
Same 8750H I don’t disable the turbo boost only traditional undervolting, and clean the fans periodically the Fans radiator on blade 15 get dusty quite fast, did usually annually last time 10 months already showed higher temperature, that could also add some heat.

I'm doing an 8-hour DVD rip to 1080p with DVDFab's Enlarger AI which cranks up the RTX 2080 to near 100% utilization the whole time. Oddly, its the CPU that's cooking at 90-100°C the whole time. I've got a laptop cooler running at high speed under it, but disabling Turbo Boost sounds like just the thing I need.

Can you tell me which checkbox or slider I should change in ThrottleStop to [temporarily] disable Turbo Boost?

UPDATE: Never mind. It was staring me right in the face:
