Has anyone had much luck getting a 2019 Blade Stealth to work correctly with a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming Box 1070? I can get the egpu to work when plugged but then my MX150 doesnt want to work correctly when the egu is unplugged. Seems like they are both fighting for the place of graphics card.

Most probably driver crashed and windows loosing connection with the driver, is it solved by restarting your stealth? Best solution maybe by switching it to mx150 before unplugging. Do you also disable mx150 on gaming box usage? On windows 10 r5 it’s apparently no need since windows will automatically switching it but sometimes maybe not working well and with Razer Core there’s gpu switcher that make switching easier.
You can check also this thread, thread maker use gaming box 1080 on his egpu setting.

As Jokainsai mentioned, this was a problem I experienced using my 2019 Stealth with a Gaming Box 1080. The drivers for the MX150 would need to be reinstalled whenever my Stealth had been plugged into my Gaming box, and disabling the MX150 before plugging in the eGPU did not make a difference.
A procedure that worked for me was to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe all graphics drivers, then reinstall drivers from Nvidia from within safe mode.
- Make sure that you've updated things like Windows, drivers, Thunderbolt, and Razer Synapse.
- Download and install DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
- Download the latest Nvidia *Game-Ready (not Studio) Drivers from Nvidia's website (get the ones that correspond to the GPU in your eGPU)
- Boot into safe mode and use DDU to completely uninstall all graphics drivers.
- After running DDU, install the drivers from Nvidia.

Someone else reported still having trouble after this procedure, too. My 2019 model now works fairly seamlessly with the gaming box, though. Hope this helps.

figrin1That’s quite annoying, tried also gpu switcher? Or I think i posted somewhere and reported worked about this loosing driver issues, forgot where, here, Reddit or egpu.io. By doing double driver installation, first download same driver version both for mx150 and your gpu inside enclosure, and clean install it first before plug in and after plugged even it’s already recognized. I was thinking that windows will save the driver better. I think if it happens again it’s worth a try, I heard success sample from user, and I did this personally before on my first installation on Blade 15 egpu setting after upgrading from 14 one and had similar issue.

awilson3342Both? How about checking on Gigabyte site about gaming box firmware update, I think they update it quite often. Or contact their company representative on egpu subreddit GBT_Brian about your issue, maybe he can help. Last time I saw him here.
I know I've tried doing that and it doesn't work

JoikansaiUpdating the Gaming Box's firmware is a good idea, though that didn't solve the issue for me, and this issue isn't isolated to just the Gaming Box. Folks have reported it happening to them using the Razer's eGPU enclosures as well.

UPDATE: I've gotten the GTX 1070 to properly work, but I'm nervous about trying to see if I can get the MX150 to work along side it. may just leave it as disabled/uninstalled for now but keep the driver on my laptop for it, should I need it
UPDATE 2: I had a driver missing which turned out to be part of the mx150 driver. I tried installing it and so far it appears like the MX150 and GTX 1070 are shaking hands and cooperating together

awilson3342Yup I do install manually same driver and save the folder, especially on first run windows will be bug recognizing it, but later it’ll be fine from my experience, never had lossing driver since I got rtx 2080 from last year, happened only once at first.

figrin1Ill definitely get you an idea of how stuff runs once I fully finish setting up my monitor etc UPDATE: Playing GTA 5 with an external monitor hooked to the egpu lets me play on all ultra settings with vsync and many other things enabled at a solid 60+ FPS based on GTA 5's fps counter. I have used other programs in the past that show that their reader is often off so i could be getting way more than that but it definitely plays buttery smooth. Will be trying with more games but I ran out of time tonight.

I wanted to add to this thread because there are so few real answers for how to get the Aorus Gaming Box to work well with a Razer. I have been working on getting the connection to run smoothly and make use of both my dgpu and the egpu. I was successful tonight. There is no more issues with installing and reinstalling my dgpu drivers constantly. It is plug n play now. I will leave a couple of key things that were very helpful that have been left out in most threads.
1. Uninstall and reinstall the latest versions of all of your gpu drivers once you get the box to power on.
2. Install the Game Ready versions of the drivers (this one got me because I use the Studio versions. The Razer ends up picking the egpu and disconnecting the dgpu. But with Game versions both are utilized.)
3. Make sure you have the latest firmware for Thunderbolt 3. Any old or off versions of the firmware and the box will not connect. I found the driver for Razer laptops thunderbolt port in Razers driver page. Its a pdf with links. And I also downloaded the Thunderbolt control center from micrsoft marketplace. Again, uninstall everything before beginning the install.
I was almost ready to send the egpu back because of all the problems but now it have a ridiculous amount of power in my laptop setup. GTX 1060 max Q 6gb + GTX 1070 8gb, 32GB ram, 8th gen i7. Good luck to anyone attempting this same setup. It is possible so don't give up!

UPDATE: In addition to the points I listed above. I updated my Razer Blade 15 with the most recent version of the BIOS found in Razers download and support section. A lot of the problems people listed were related to the Aorus GB only working sometimes and not powering on when plugged. The updated drivers (GPU, Thunderbolt 3 and BIOS) fixed everything. It runs smoothly and powers up Everytime.

I have a similar problem. I'm using Sonnet eGPU box (GeForce 1080) and once I install driver for eGPU and MX150 stops working correctly. Then I reinstall driver for MX150 then eGPU stops working. It might be a problem of Windows 10 1903.
