2019 Stealth External Monitor

So the Razer Blade Stealth, along with the 15 and Pro models, only utilize intel on-board graphics with the Thunderbolt 3 port. What this means is the vastly under-powered intel GPU would be trying to push 4K resolution to a much larger display, further increasing the use of your GPU. The reason this works with the core is due to the GPU being directly connected to an external display. By doing this, you can also utilize the G-Sync technology to further enhance your gaming/entertainment/work. Will it work - very poorly. The stealth is basically a CPU and the core is the GPU. Without both working together, it greatly reduces the performance but increases portability. To utilize G-sync you will utilize the TB3 port to a Razer core, then use a mini-display port cable and connect directly into the G-Sync compatible monitor. Also, re-routing the core back to the laptop display bottle-necks the performance of even the best GPU's available today. You also need to utilize the eGPU first in a daisy-chain setup. Otherwise there will be obvious latency issues and stuttering of frames. I'd personally suggest you pick up a Razer Raptor 27" QHD IPL LED monitor when it's released. It'll be the cleanest looking monitor for your setup in my opinion. Maybe throw in a Razer Blade Stealth Laptop Stand, Mamba Wireless Mouse and a Huntsman Elite to finish off a Pro Setup. To save some money you may want to check out "G-Sync compatible Freesync monitors" to save you a few hundred dollars. There are around 17 available on the market today which Nvidia has agreed to support with G-Sync to nearly eliminate screen tearing.

Thanks for your reply. Annoying to learn that it's only internal graphics when outputting display from thunderbolt 3. Same applies with standard USB C to Display Port? Will just wait for my core to arrive and stick to daisy chaining the core to the monitor. Trying to find a core V2 as the ports and ethernet port on the core would be great for peripherals and ethernet for gaming. My LG Monitor uses freesync by AMD, though I believe that there is a driver update to allow nvidia cards to use this

I really went back and forth between what you're going through and investing the core's value into an upgraded laptop. I'm a business professional and weekend warrior and felt keeping everything together suited my needs well. I will suggest a Caldigiit TB3 powered hub for your setup. This way you can charge your stealth while utilizing the powered TB3 to Caldigit, mini-display port to your monitor and utilize a nice headset while using your work/gaming station. All your peripherals will have a home on the Caldigit hub as well so your setup will stay nice and clean. Linus Tech Tips on youtube has a library full of useful setup tips on exactly what you're trying to accomplish. Don't forget to utilize DLSS in games which have it available. This will help increase FPS under heavy GPU use and is constantly becoming a more reliable technology. Lastly, don't forget to thank yourself for investing in you. I'm sorry, little confused by your last post. 2080ti? Currently don't have any graphics card in a core to link up yet.

Then I'd suggest you go with a Nvidia RTX 2080Ti GPU. It's a massive expense but will outlast the wait for online game streaming subscriptions and give you the performance of a quality desktop. Stick to Nvidia, as some of the other manufacturers have lower clock speeds which result in loss of performance. Get what you want, and what you want is an RTX 2080Ti. DLSS is a technology RTX GPU's offer which converts 4K video as if it were more like 1080p. You see around a 40% increase in Frames Per Second on max graphics settings on the current games which offer the use of the DLSS feature. Combining DLSS with Ray-Tracing technology (which is only available on RTX GPU's) offers you the highest quality image and performance alike.

I have just put in an order for a mid-tier 2019 Razer Blade Stealth, fingers crossed there are no QC issues with this one. Anyhow, I am also looking at options to output to my 4K 27" monitor, as I won't be buying a Razer Core for a few months. Will the Stealth output 4K at 60Hz via a USB C to Display Port Adapter or will I need a Thunderbolt 3 to a powered hub to then run display out? Wanting a simple solution to have the stealth docked and the display running for more screen space when needed

Didn’t try on 4K monitor but on 1440p usb c monitor. TB3 port should be able to handle it. Only like other mentioned it’s connected to iGPU on default but it can still use dgpu MX150, if it’s not automatically detects the dgpu you can use it by on nvidia controll panel manage 3D apps and choose the exe.file that doesn’t recognize MX150, change it from balanced to max performance Nvidia graphics. I tried that on Blade 15 TB3 port which should be similar with stealth 2019 TB3 with MX150 architecture, on default it used intel iGPU on some app, and after changing it, it use nvidia graphic.
