They did. It is call a Razor Phone. Are you asking for a portable WiFi that is fast but does not have internet access. Or are you asking for a LTE or even a 5G hot spot?

you're talking about the Razer Phone 1 or 2.
I know a manufacturer who makes mobile routers. but i can't talk about it on the forum.
Most phones that support hot spots will work as a portable router. We do this for low bandwidth gaming like Mindcraft with no issues. I also carry a "TP-Link N300" when I travel. It is only 300 Mbps, but it can run a wirelss LAN party pretty well. I mainly us it for hotels that still have an ethernet wire to each room. It is nice to have your own WiFi and not be fighting everyone else. I have also used it camping without internet or cell phone access for gaming. It works. Are you looking for something with more speed?

The question is how will Razer add value vs what is already on the market. Besides Croma, I am not sure what else they can do. Like Apple and others, they do not build WiFi routers. Mainly because it is a very competitive market that demands constant software updates. I mean if you just want a portable WiFi router with a Razer logo on it, just get the phone and turn on the hot spot. Done. Or even spray paint the TP-Link flat black and put a Razer sticker on it.
Now when 5G get fully rolled out, we might see something like a gaming modem/router. We would be at the mercy of the wireless companies, so do not expect much or being cheap.

Yes, that's right, you're right, even though I wish I had the opinion of min-liang tan. I have a Razer Phone 1. And they offered Razer stickers. So I could buy a portable wifi router. And stick logo on it.
