You can try that and tell us the result, since no one test it yet I believe. Because one of that cost same as base blade 15 and two is around same with blade 15 advanced 3080.

I do think it is possible, after the BIOS is set to UEFI~~~
Some of the Microsoft forums state it can go from 12 - 16 TB

I do not know how much is true.

Most importantly, I think as long as the motherboard and psu can handle the magnitude of the capacity and the power consumption of the M.2 drive~~~

The Blade 15 comes with a 3080 GPU, and a 230 W power adapter thinking it has good enough power capacity to handle 8 TB drive, but that is just my assumption.
If anyone tries this or even 2x4tb drives please update as I just picked up the 2021 model with the 3080 and am curious myself how much storage it can handle. Razer says upgradable to 4tb but are not clear if that’s 2tb per slot or 4tb per slot. I’m guessing they mean 2tb per slot at a max of 4tb total
I have read that the 8tb wil fit in previous models
you can only fit 1 8TB drive in the 2021 model. The "bottom" slot doesn't allow for double sided M.2s. The top slot doesn't either but with some tape it'll fit.
So eventhough they're both nvme slots only the top can accept the 8tb? Why would this be the case? Have you tested? I have the 3080 2021 model and plan to throw in the max I can fit. Also with tape? Please be as specific as possible.
The bottom slot is flush mounted with the motherboard. Therefore, when you install an M.2 SSD above 2TB, there are NAND chips that populate both sides of the SSD. The flush mounted connecter means you can't physically get the SSD to sit flat and if you force it, it will break the M.2 connector off the motherboard or snap the SSD connector off.

The top slot will allow for a double sided SSD but you wont be able to use their included metal bracket. Or else the same problem as described above will happen. I used a piece of doube sided tape to secure the SSD's together so they wont come loose. I feel comfortable with that solution and it's been working great for a week.

The max storage at this time is 10TB (I have 6 though). 2TB in slot 1 (bottom) and 8TB in slot 2 (top). That means both can be populated if you want with the max sizes listed above.
This is promising news! I ordered the 8tb xtrm-q external nvme from sabrent as a failsafe but was curious what I can fit in the actual system itself. I'm still not clear on what you mean by metal bracket or why you would need tape to secure the ssds together. I've not opened my laptop yet so I may understand more when i do.
thank you so much for your input
I would open my laptop but it's been open 5 times and those screws scare me.. I'm sorry. You'll see when you install it. The way the M.2 connectors are laid out is the SSD's overlap each other so the "top" slot has no screw to keep the top SSD held into place. That's where the bracket comes in. I have the bracket removed as that's the only way to install the 2 drives. I'll take a pic when I am home tomorrow. Maybe that will help visualize.

You're welcome! I sure hope I helped. But let me just say this for anyone else finding this, this is kinda hacky and I don't recommend it, although it works fine for me! 🙂
I totally understand, this is the 3rd razer blade i've had and all the screws are janky as hell. Hence why i'm in no hurry to dig into them until I had a better idea of if i should. I'm guessing 2 4tb drives would be compatible in this model.
I payed way too much for the sabrent xtrm-q 8tb usb-c external drive but i know it will work atleast for now. 1,600 is a shitload.

Sorry, I got banned from posting for a bit. As stated above 2x 4TB wont fit..
thank you for the heads up!
my best bet would probably just be to wait until i see what a few more people come up with before i decide what to go with. I still need to open it up and see what you mean about the bracket.
So just to be clear a 4tb and a 2tb would fit fine right? Would a 4tb be he same thickness as an 8tb? With a 4tb would I run in to the same problem fitting the 4tb as with the 8tb and the connector?
I ask because if I have to rig it anyway may aswell go with the 8
As in the description of the advanced model "Maximum: Expandable up to 4TB SSD (M.2 2280)"
I believe that it would not be expandible further than 4TB so you might have bough too big of a SSD.
I’ve read what razer says about max being 4tb, they said the same thing about the last model, yet multiple people have reported an 8tb working just fine. I’m trying to find out if the 8tb sabrent is the same thickness as the 4tb. The guy above said himself with some rigging he was able to get the 8 to work but couldn’t use the bracket. I’m curious if I got the 4tb if I could still used the bracket because it could be slightly thinner possibly.

Gr8 question but I still have more
Did anyone ever work this out?

I have a 2021 Blade 15 Intel 11th Gen arriving next week and a spare 8TB Rocket Q which I had installed in my Blade 15 2020, The blade 2020 slot is completely different to the 2021 layout.

also, using double sided tape in replacement of the metal bracket will damage the motherboard log term surely?

Not sure whether to sell it if it will not fit, especially due to the fact that the new Blade supports PCIe 4.

If I do end up selling it, I am curious to know which storage device will fit. Razer why did you add this new metal bracket? It’s so frustrating.
I spoken to a Distributor of this Mid 2021 Razer 15 Advanced Edition Laptop

I was told that 1 of the M.2 SSD Slot will fit the Sabrent 8TB SSD

The other M.2 SSD Slot will only take up to a 2TB M.2 SSD

No matter how they tried to fit it

So there you go Folks ... This laptop can only take

1) 1 2TB M.2 SSD
and
2) 1 8TB M.2 Sabrent SSD

What distributor do you mean, Hidevolution? Since they’re the only place so far I know for costumizing Razer and other brands laptops with their costume upgrade plans. Do you know if it’s slot matter which is one of them only maxed at 2 and the other 8gb or motherboard storage limitation at 10tb, because maybe some want to use 4tb plus 4tb as mentioned on this thread on Reddit works with 8gb (4+4) on base 15 that has two slots m2.
