hotter when plugged in?

I have just bought one of the newer Razer Blade 15 Laptops and have found that if I play a game using the battery, it stays pretty cool. It's not a particularly taxing game - Sims 4. However, playing exactly the same game with the computer plugged into the mains makes the area between the keyboard and screen really hot. Is this normal? it just seems odd that there's such a difference from when it's plugged in and when it's on battery, doing exactly the same thing. If it's normal, that's fine, but I just wanted to find out if there was an issue with my machine. Many thanks Traci

Charging the battery would generate more heat so I'd say, it's only natural for the temps to rise. Do let me know should you encounter any performance dips so we can further investigate.

It's worth noting that the default configuration is to used a powered down / clocked down CPU and GPU when running on battery in order to make it last longer. By plugging it in, you ramp the CPU and GPU back up to full speed, which in turn generates more heat (which along with charging the battery) can make it run hotter than on battery.

Hello, As I read your system hot when you play games and your laptop also plugged in charging. Which is normal actually when you play the game on your laptop there are too many cache files on which you laptop CPU working on that's why it's hot and also charging the battery would generate more heat. That's why your laptop keyboard and screen hot. Hope this will help you Thanks
