Hey everyone i'm happy to announce I received my Blade today! I will do my best to answer questions about it. Hopefully this thread gets some traction so we can use is as an information thread/comparison thread. Post pictures when you get your Blade etc. Let the games begin!

Firebat246Thank you so much for the reply. I have a dell 15 4K now and was hoping not to notice much of a difference so I can get a laptop with better battery life and improved gaming :)
Unless you are trying to be extra picky I think the text looks great. It's a good screen and one of the better 1080p panels I have seen on a laptop.

StalkyreIf you don't mind me jumping in, I think any FHD screen may not look as sharp against a 4k.

Thanks for all your work on this. Did you buy an extended warranty from some place by chance? I'm looking to keep mine for 2 years so I'd like to be covered outside the typical warranty period. Square Trade has one but it's $400 for 3 years - no 2 year option

marcinthecloudOuch, that's pretty pricey. Check your credit card many offer extended warranties. I believe Amex has one

Firebat246Ah I see, Im going with your advice with the 970 EVO 2TB. You're right, why carry around an extra accessory. I still have to lug my MacBook Pro around to compile for iOS Apps that compliment our main ERP system so the less accessories, wires, scanners, devices, the better. Firebat, should I wait until the drivers are released? Upgrading the RAM off the bat should be fine right? Im thinking about getting these. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Performance-260-Pin-CMSX32GX4M2A2666C18/dp/B01BGZEVHU?pd_rd_wg=gBpws&pd_rd_r=3c744eff-d68a-4481-b65f-4e973e70a38c&pd_rd_w=kqxD6&ref_=pd_gw_simh&pf_rd_r=AX9YWYBP4C0PMJKRM0A5&pf_rd_p=0b12aebc-d5b0-5c01-a940-e2aae645563d
Fresh install went fine.. keep in mind that if you don't actually burn the ISO like the old days it will automatically install windows 10 Home not pro since that is what's already registered to the machine. If you want to buy a Pro CD key and fresh install you need to do it the old way vs using the media creation tool from windows. Aside from that keep in mind you will have zero drivers. The Blade 15 is very new.. so you may want to wait until Razer has a full driver set available before doing so to make it easier on you.

DarthVader0That is what I am concerned about. Truth is that most of the time my dell XPS is connected to a monitor. More and more however I find myself working with docs at home and would hate to find text difficult to work with on an FHD screen. But that XPS is lousy for gaming... Question is whether the 4K will work well for gaming since there are no reviews out for it yet....

TimDoggTechnically you should be able to enter a windows pro CD key and it should convert to pro. But I'm having trouble getting mine to work. Basically because there's already a home CD key attached to the Blade it will default to home. Once you enter the key it should convert it to pro. That memory should work fine and you shouldnt have any issues with compatibility.

StalkyreFor Overwatch, CSGO, Rocket League yes but for AAA titles 1070 isn’t enough maybe on 1440p, but definitely way better than on XPS, 1050ti? It’s around double performance bump, if 1050 it’s over that.
But that XPS is lousy for gaming... Question is whether the 4K will work well for gaming since there are no reviews out for it yet....

JoikansaiThanks as always one thing that happened was that there is no support for the Mamba wireless mouse on synapse 3.0. Surely they will add support for it right? :eek_: EDIT: After talking to razer support I guess i'll run Synapse 2 & 3 simultaneous. Hopefully they add the mamba mouse soon!

TimDoggNo one know that, but you can install synapse 2 can’t you, yes it’s annoying to have 2 different similar software on one hardware that’s also why I’m still using Synapse 2 even has Lancehead and firefly that supports beta 3. I hope also they release something new for older systems like they did on Blade 15 to be able to do more costumization like gaming mode on Blade 14 and Fans costumization on Razer Core, but it seems won’t happen from what I saw.

For some reason my initial impression was thinking that you cant use synapse 2 & 3 at the same time.
but thanks Firebat definitely needed that 2 TB. Its coming tomorrow and All I did was install 3 games and took up nearly the whole 250 GB.
At least with the 2TB I can fit my music, games, and work stuff. I wonder how the razer blades fair running virtual machines. With the 2TB and 32 GB of ram theres more than enough to run a virtual machine so I can use it for work only and keep my main OS clean for personal use.
anyone facing slow Wi-Fi speeds? I have to go somewhere with faster Speeds so I can really test but I'll have to see.

Please guys, what the temps are you seeing without undervolting? have you changed the tim for another one or even LM, what is the temp?
I am getting 90c CPU and 74c GPU gaming no undervolting with LM.

Hi @Firebat246 how much do you think the price for 2017 FHD 14 512gb? It’s mint condition, without any scratch or defect, I had €1300 asked, but it feels me too cheap isn’t it? Considering Late 2016 i could sell my 2015 QHD 256 for €1500, and actual purchase price for 2017 was €2.1K. Appreciate any input, thanks.

JoikansaiI sold my 2017 FHD 1tb for 1800USD. Converting your offer to USD gets a little over 1500usd i think. I would say that is a decent price and should accept the offer. Especially looking at sold listing prices on Ebay for same model.

How can i test my benchmarking?
Only thing issue i faced is my computer freezing after finishing downloading a game and the mouse skipping form random lag when something loads.
Something that didnt happen before i upgraded my ram and SSD. Its not bothering me much but if anyone can suggest a solution that would be dope.
But yeah so happy! Payed an arm and a leg some of my friends are like wtf.

Got my rma replacement monday last week, however I wasn't able to test it out until today because I was out of the country.
I ran a firestrike after updating everything, and my blade was just a little bit better on thermal than my previous one that got rma'd.
Decided to go with a full thermal repaste of both gpu/cpu. I don't want to deal with another RMA. Result are a lot better now. Approx 20C less on CPU and 10C less on GPU.No undervolt, Blade with stock settings. Just pushed the game mode in synapse after updating the laptop after initial setup.
I will run more test tomorrow but here a comparaison with a 3dmark firestrike test:
Not a fan of paying a high premium price on a laptop and having to repaste it out of the box. This job should be done correctly at the factory. Hope Razer will fix this someday, this issue exist since their first blade.
At least, I love it now.

hasimo14Yep i like glossy screen better like my old MacBook, Blade 14 2015 and even my super cheap xiaomi Air 13. But I’m not content creator that need 4K on go only pure gaming, at home I prefer playing 4K rpg/open world games on external monitor, it’s darn better imo. FPS/shooting/racing I can play on its internal screen, beside g sync monitor that I saw had bad colors, and 1440p one still not as good as my LG 4K Monitor in term color acuracy, and that 4K HDR 144 monitor will cost insane and even desktop 1080ti won’t handle it good, need next gen gpu or maybe next next gen. Well hard decision but I’ve plenty time since here in EU my ETA for Blade 15 is early next month, remind me last year waiting for 4K Blade 14, but hey we have World Cup this week so for me the time will go faster than last year;)
