+1It won’t harm anything, also you’ll keep your intel drivers updated in this way. So why not?
I'm worried that if there's an Intel update, the video card settings and others might disappear. Will this happen?

You can backup the settings - it MAY happen, but I doubt it’ll replace your settings, unless you use an option to do a clean upgrade (and dunno if there is such setting for intel gpus).
