What do you mean "lag"? Network lag? High internet latency in games? Or lag in terms of gpu/cpu performance? Check if your laptop is set on high performance mode. Also monitor your CPU/GPU temperatures - maybe it's too high, and laptop is throttling?

Probably drivers? Which blade 14 model we’re talking about btw? If older 2017 or before maybe thermal or power throttle.

The TGP of their 3080 is only 100w when at full power it’s 165w just to put it in perspective. You should run a TimeSpy test and see what you get. From one review it looks like it should be getting 9177 in that TimeSpy benchmark so if your not getting around that then you may have a problem. If you are getting that then it could be performing as expected.

That review seems also not right for 3080:wink_: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/27559225

2021 3070 model for me. I have ok but not great frames on all games but especially more cpu bound ones have underwhelming performance. I've reinstalled my nvidia drivers and updated the bios but no luck so far. Im wondering if the lack of a mux switch really makes this much of a difference. I hope not because purchased this laptop with the mindset that performance wouldn't ever be a problem given its acclaims as the "most powerful 14" laptop"

MUX switch performance penalty maybe big on fast facing shooter, on cpu demanding titles like on tomb raiders series, Ubisoft open world titles I don’t see big performance difference between internal and external monitor (external monitor is bypassing Optimus, similar with mux switch). Probably thermal throttle issue? For your information, the performance score above I did on costum high gpu and boost cpu plus afterburner OC only for fun, and on cpu test it’ll hit struggle 100 degrees, so I won’t use that profile on daily gaming since it’ll have bad gaming experience like fps drop here and there, I use mostly balance mode with manual fans rpm at preferred loudness. I’ve also exact model, so far it’s great, I don’t really need mux switch personally, it’s actually there since forever on this Optimus laptops, only last couple years tech influencers found it and made it a theme.
