please allow undervolting on Laptops with 12th gen intel cpu

Hello

My system is blade 15 12800h 3070ti.

I’m unlucky to buy 2022 model. Cause 2020, 2021 (after bios editing) and 2023 allows undervolting, but 2022 - don’t.

There are overclocking lock & undervolt protection. Cpu runs 2400-2800Mhz 1.1v, heats to 100°C and use all of TGP. Laptop is useless without voltages customisation, even after repaste and with cooling-pad.

For example, my desktop cpu 12900k needs 1,1v to run 5200 all cores.

I implore you, can you please make a BIOS that unlocks undervolting? This is strictly important to me. Don’t want to buy another vendor’s laptop. I agree to refuse my warranty. I don’t need it.

I will respect you. And a lot of other 2022-model users too.

12900h processors can’t be undervolted, only the HX variants can.  I think you might have a cooling issue.

You would never get 5.2 sustained anyway, even with an undervolt. I have the 2022 blade 15 oled and mine sustains 4.5gz no undervolt, using about 35-40 watts.  For comparison my old 2020 with 10850h could only sustain 3.8ghz with the same power, so this is quite good.

The chasis can only really handle about 100 - 120 watts of sustained power between cpu/gpu anyway.  That leaves 80w for the gpu and a little headroom for boost.

After repaisting my 2022 wth 12900H with PTM7950. I find the laptop truely silent on silent mode and stays at around 90c/85c cpu/gpu under heavy gaming.  Fans are not obnoxious either.

I think this is close to the best you can hope to achive with a thin and light design and it’s quite good imo.
