Potential Buyer Question

Hey everyone,

I am considering making the switch to Razer. Since I perform a lot of architectural designing in-addition to high end non-competitive gaming, my current choices are either the Blade Pro or the Studio. With Razer's collection of laptops, can the components be upgraded over time, or would I need to upgrade the entire laptop? I'd hate to invest $4k and only have the laptop last for two years. I generally get about seven years out of a system with upgrading the internals myself.

Also, what has been the community's experience with noise? Do Razers tend to be on the quieter side when cooling or are they on the louder side of things?

Thanks for feedback!

If you want an upgradeable system, don't buy laptops, no matter what brand.

Big Blade lines ssd, ram and wireless card is upgradable on Pro and new base 15 model there’s extra slot to add ssd (sata on 15 base and m2 on pro). That’s all what you can upgrade from most laptops, maybe you can add extra performance by using external gpu in the future, this made me feel like I don’t need to upgrade the gpu anytime soon on 1070 2018 model since I’ve rtx2080 inside the core (but for Blade Pro atm it’s meaningless since its dgpu performs better than any TB3 egpu setting because of TB3 bottleneck)
About the loudness, from new stealth 2019 it’s surprisingly quite, on gaming it might be loud (even MacBook is loud on this usage) but not as loud as Blade 15 2018.

I agree. Just build a desktop and you will probably spend less money too.
Yes, forget the laptop if your planning on upgrading it. As for the noise, I have had several gaming laptops (5) and the Razer is the quietest. When gaming with it, as long as I have the volume turned up, the fan noise is audible but not annoying. Honestly, it is mostly drowned out.
