Just got an old Razer Blade 14 2016 that claimed to boot to bios however when turned on the fans spin, indicator LED slowly flashes green (on for 2 seconds off for 2 seconds) and the caps lock indicator flashes once when initially powered on but the screen backlight never turns on and there is no video out put to external display or laptop screen. If I hold left fn when turning on the fans blow at max and the caps lock light stay on but is otherwise the same I would greatly appreciate any help if these lights indicate a specific error or there are any suggestions on what to try.
details:
no battery
no SSD
claimed to previously boot as is when plugged in with no issues except dead pixels
fans start and continue spinning
power LED slowly flashes green (on for 2 seconds off for 2 seconds)
caps lock flashes once
no display output of any kind
backlight doesn't turn on
holding fn when turning on causes fans to run at max speed and caps lock light to stay on but is otherwise the same

The LED flash you mentioned does not appear to mean anything as far as I can tell. But you highly likely have a GPU issue. This is fairly difficult to diagnose without opening the laptop, but you will want to check for corrosion and bloated caps near the GPU. Anyway, I'll be moving this to our Systems Boards since there isn't much that I can add aside from offering an out-of-warranty repair.

Green light means system on display off, but since you can’t output it maybe nvidia gpu issue but if it has usb C you can try output through this port using adapter, usually it’ll utilize using intel gpu since your model has TB3. For access bios since the display doesn’t response it’ll be hard but try pressing f1 it esc after booting hopefully it’ll access the bios.

Sorry for the delayed response how would I go about getting an out of warranty repair? When I put in my serial # on mysupport.razer.com it just says it is no longer covered warranty and doesn't give an option for out of warranty repair. I was also wondering if you have any kind of estimate of how much the repair would cost assuming it is the GPU?

It’ll be expensive if the gpu is defective since literally you’ll exchange the whole motherboard, pretty normal on laptops. Not sure if Razer still provides repair for this model since it’s literally 5 years old unit and they don’t produce it anymore, but you can contact support per chat or phone support for details if you can’t get support via web regristration. There’s also other options, you can check old blade repair company I saw some advertising on Germany Ebaykleinanzeigen (kind of Craigslist) offering repair for old blade laptops, maybe there’s similar service on your region.
Gerade bei #eBayKleinanzeigen gefunden. Wie findest du das?
