Razer Blade 15 2060 + Core V1?

Hey Folks, So someone I know is going to upgrade their core v1 to the core x chroma for the sake of better power delivery for his new laptop. Since I do not need power delivery for my blade 15 (advanced 2060, 8750h) I offered to buy his v1 and he said yes! I have no experience with any razer cores and I was wondering what kind of performance I would be looking at if I installed a 2060 super or 2070 super (1070ti and 1080 user replies would be helpful as well) if I could even use those cards at all with the in-built power supply. I was also wondering if any of you know if using the i/o affects performance in real life when gaming/using adobe apps as I do have many peripherals on my desk and can always use more usb/ethernet. The core v1 use single Thunderbolt controller unlike v2 and x chroma so on High usage the bandwidth might be jammed and TB3 disconnect reconnect issue might be also occurred. As pure egpu enclosure it’s good but not as dock station. I don’t have v1 but I heard quite often this issue on v1 you can ask your friend about this though, I might be wrong. About performance gain from your dgpu 2060, it depends your gaming setting, @1080p or on internal screen mostly not, on lower resolution performance penalty is huge, and using on internal display bring data loop from laptop back to enclosure reducing more bandwidth.

Hey, thanks for your reply btw! I intend to use it mainly as a means of driving my QHD monitor for gaming when I am home and nothing else. While I for the most part have all the usb ports/bandwidth I need for my setup on my laptop the little bit of extra stuff is nice on the core. another reason I am going to start using the v1 is so that if I want to downsize at any point (move to a stealth, or laptop with less gpu power) I can still have a capable gaming desktop setup without needing to simply buy a new laptop every 2ish years. thanks again, -freshRUBYPhlox526
