Razer Blade 15 Advanced external DOCK MST dual monitor setup not using discrete graphics

So, I have a USB-C dock station with 2 DisplayPorts to 2 4k monitors. Everything seems to work fine, however I noticed the graphics is being served by the Integrated Intel graphics and not the nVidia GeForce RTX 2080. Has anyone gotten this to use the RTX GPU? I can't seem to force it to use the discrete graphics and am wondering if it's b/c I'm using a USB-C dock instead of a Thunderbolt 3 dock. Thoughts anyone?

Out of curiosity, how do you observe / determine which is in use? o_O I feel like I knew this at some point, forgot, and now cannot seem to find it with a quick google search. :confused_: Have you tried plugging the display into the laptop without the dock? If you have an adapter available for displayport, or via hdmi, I guess.. sorry, I have a base model and I forget the port differences, lol. 😳

well, it's easy to see the load on which GPU is being used if you use your Windows Task Manager. that's a dead giveaway. as for plugging the display without the dock, this is a use case that doesn't really address my problem. i'm not seeking to see if the display will use the GPU, which if I use the HDMI or TB port directly, it would do so fine. the reason i'm using a DOCK is to do a multi-monitor setup to power TWO external 4K monitors through DisplayPort connections (notice the mention of MST in the title). -- so for those that might run into this situation like me, i solved my problem. when using a USB-C dock, computer decides to use the Integrated graphics via the CPU. i went out and purchased a TB dock just to test the theory of whether or not it would use the discrete graphics. sure enough, TB allows the computer to use the discrete graphics GPU which is now buttery smooth instead of the jittery performance I had earlier. in fact, i could do triple 4k setup with the TB dock. the USB-C dock forced me to only do a dual 4k setup and the laptop display just mirrors one of the displays.

FYI, both docks allowed for 4k at 60fps on each external monitor in dual monitor mode.
