Hello everyone, just bought the Razer Blade 15.6in base model FHD 144Hz i7 9750H RTX 2060 512GB SSD (RZ09-03006E92-R3B1)
The only game i play is CS GO and everything is fine and quiet until i plug it, then it becomes really loud !
i get also much more FPS it goes from 60/70 unplugged to +200 when plugged, i don't see any difference when gaming so i would be fine if can can somehow reduce the heat and the fan speed.
Should i undervolt my CPU an if yes, how? and should i disable turbo boost?
Thanks

It’s loud because the fans try to cool the system and on this category Laptop it may be loud. On the battery power the performance is capped so the fans doesn’t need to cool the system that isn’t as hot as plugged. Yes you can reduce the loudness by undervolting the cpu, but I think on your model it’s already factory undervolted, check it using Intel xtu (not quite sure if it’s compatible with 9th gen cpu, on 8th gen it’s) or HWinfo64 (check on cpu power areas if there’s (-) values, I believe 9750 is -100mv undervolted on Factory setting), so lowering the Value maybe doesn’t bring some changes in term loudness. But maybe you want to check manual Fans on Synapse to set on your preferred loudness, but keep the temperature not hitting high throttle areas since it may bring FPS drop. Yes disabling turbo boost means lowering performance aka less heat that translates less aggressive fans activity.
Thanks for your answer mate, so yeah i first disabled turbo boost and you are right the 9750 is -100mv undervolted on Factory setting, so i lowered it to -150mv, the temp dropped big time and the crazy part is im still getting 200 fps ! i didn't try to push more than -150mv since i got what i wanted, i can barely hear the fan working when playing .
Thanks again !!
Hi - I am having the same issue with my Razer Blade - but I have not been able to find a solution to stopping the fans from being too loud. I believe I have disabled Turbo Boost (changed the minimum processor state to 5% - the maximum to 95% - and changed the cooling policy to passive) but the fans are still producing loud noises even when I'm only browsing a web page. Do you think if I adjust the undervolt setting as described above that could help? Any other ideas on keeping the fans silent - I desperately want to keep this computer but won't be able to if I can't fix this problem as it is unbearable.
