Razer Blade Pro 2019? | Razer Insider
Well, it's now 2019, 20 series mobile graphics cards are officially unveiled, and Razer has refreshed 2 of its 3 laptop models in the past year; the Blade 15 and, more recently, the Blade Stealth. So, what's the deal with the Blade Pro? The Blade 15 has been updated 3 separate times since the summer of last year. People have been practically begging for a Blade Pro refresh for a while now, so when can we expect one (if even at all)? It's the oddball of the Razer trilogy currently, being the only one out of the trio rocking outdated hardware and designs, and is overdue for a nice refresh like the other two (imho). What do you guys think?

Keep saving your money if you aiming Blade Pro with RTX. No one know when Razer update it though, but it’s not easy putting full 2080 inside Blade Pro sexy thin body, and it should be featuring all features on Blade 15 with even better features for the liver you sold;) I would let them testing it longer for better product and not rushing like other manufacturers that already listing it on their high end model. I think this was the Blade 15 success key to be the better gaming performance compared to its competitors on last gen.

Good point. As much as it hurts having to wait and wait for the next beast laptop, I guess I would rather it be solid at launch than rushed and problematic. Razer seems to be better with handling and preventing hardware and software bugs recently, so hopefully that carries over to the (hypothetical) new BP. Besides, for the price, it better be perfect (or damn near perfect) :big_grin_:

I dunno. I got 5 racks burning a hole in my pocket right now. Would rather not wait for an RTX blade pro.

This 100%. Would buy right now if it were out.

Blade 15 has option for...

RTX 2080
16 GB RAM, upgradable to 64 GB
i7-8750H
4K Screen

Honestly that's like the exact same thing as a Blade Pro, just way better. I think Razer is being very clear that the Blade 15 is meant as the replacement for the Blade Pro.

Disagree. It's only "better" because the pro hasn't been updated in a year. You're still missing the larger screen, beefier internals, etc. If you think the regular blade is great right now, imagine an updated blade pro. We don't need the 15" to be updated again and again when what is supposed to be Razer's most powerful laptop is now considerably outdated and inferior in comparison to competitors' other available laptops and, arguably, even the new blade advanced. If Razer were officially discontinuing the blade pro, we would and should expect an announcement from them stating such. Lack of transparency with consumers causes a breach of trust and leads to brand disloyalty. Some of us are still holding out for a refreshed pro, because while it may cost that of a decent used car, some of us require the pro's kind of power for productivity, and the older blade pros have delivered on that in the past where the blade 14 and 15 have missed the mark. Some of us need more than a "Blade Advanced" because we do more than casual hobby gaming. Nobody drops $5k+ on a laptop for only Fortnite and Call of Duty.
I am returning my Blade 15 with a 2080 because I want a Pro with 4K, 17” Screen, and RTX. It’s what I truly want and need for work and games. I will wait. Your move, Razer!

in case you guys didn't know

Oh hey there! 😉
Also returned my Blade 15 GTX1070MQ gen 1 a few months back.
I'm waiting for a laptop with a less neutered RTX2070/2080 (hopefully non Max-Q) with 17 inch 4K touch screen, or 1440p with high refresh (1080p at 17.3 in. simply isn't enough). Windows Hello should come standard with a better camera (my 2018 Blade 15 had a way worse camera compared to my 2014 MSI GS60), and hopefully there will be a fingerprint sensor this time.

I don't care about the price nearly as much as what options and features the new Blade Pro will have. I do think there is still a large demand, since the release of the new Pro, if meeting these expectations, combined with the usual Razer build and size, would be one of a kind.
Lackluster for the *Pro* moniker. The 15" Advanced model with 4K OLED sounds more enticing to me.
After watching HardwareCanuck's and Dave2D's videos on the new Razer Blade Pro 2019, I can put my two cents on the new Blade Pro.

Positives:
-Thin Bezzles around the display, which makes the overall laptop more modern and the Blade Pro 2017.
- Razer Core X and chroma compatibility ( my Blade pro 2017 runs horrible when trying to use Razer Core v2) Not sure how this guy got his blade pro 2017 to work with Corev2, link:
- More graphics card options similar to the Blade 15.

Negatives:
- Aesthetics are too similar to blade 15. Main reason why I liked the Blade Pro 2014 - 2017 versions was Razer did something unique with the space to the right side of the laptop chassis which stood out when comparing to the regular Blade 14.
- No right sided touchpad (lefthand users rejoice!!!)
-No 4k display option / Only 1080p option so far ( please be the first to come out with a 1440p display option for a balance of pixel density and performance ).

Mixed opinions:
- Thinner laptop chassis / smaller overall laptop. Seems like Razer downside the Razer Blade pro instead of upsizing the blade pro 17.3in to an 18in. (Refering to the Blade 14 vs Blade 15 comparison). With the smaller Blade Pro, I think it's going to be much harder to get more powerful hardware inside of the Blade pro ( more powerful cpus and gpus ,etc).

Conclusion: I'm glad I didn't wait to get the new version of the Blade Pro 2019. I decided on getting the Blade Pro 2017 last November 2018 and I would probably be kicking myself if I wait and saw this new model. Not saying that I don't like the new Razer Blade Pro 2019, but I think there's just nothing eye catching about it yet. However, I'm excited for whats to come in the future for the Blade Pro. Most importantly, I'm glad that Razer didn't discontinue the Blade Pro altogether.

I would love to hear what you guys think of the new Blade Pro and or if you agree or disagree with my list. I probably missed a whole bunch of stuff so getting more incite would be awesome.

I agree, however both fn and cod are lame. Would use my BP for productivity.

Yeah I mean that's the primary driving reason for BP shoppers. Most use them for graphically-intensive work like professional photo/video editing, CAD, animation/rendering, etc; all things I wouldn't feel quite comfortable doing on a blade 15.

At my house, we have 13" Blade Stealth, 14" Blade, and a 2017 Pro. Please note that the Pro is still large and heavy compared to the other laptops. I use it more like a travel desktop(aka a luggable) vs a carry everyday laptop. The Stealth is a good production machine being light, and good battery life. The new ones even come with GPUs so you can game on them. My favorite Razer machine right now, would be the 15" Blade. You get still light enough to carry around laptop that could be used for production or gaming and still have good enough battery life. I can also say that I really do not game when I am mobile. I tend to sit at my desk at home with the wide screen monitor and a Core. I find having a lighter laptop for mobile work and then the Core with a big GPU at home to work for me.
Min liang tan blocked me on his fb. So i may part with razer
Hello awesomeammo797, I would agree with Brastic, that the Razer Blade 15 has the best form factor and performance ratio. I kind of wished that I put off my Razer Blade Pro purchase over the Blade 15. If you wait another year, Razer might come out with 9th generation CPU's on their Blade 15 laptops and a 240hz 1080p screen or an OLED screen. Eyeing at the Razer Rapter gaming monitor, it might spark an interest for Razer to incorporate 1440p screens into more Razer Laptops, wishful thinking. I wouldn't go for the Razer Blade Pro sense there has been no news on a new Razer Blade Pro model and Razer's focus seems to be on the 13in and 15in Laptop models.

Finally, if you want to buy a Razer Blade right now, my recommendation would be Razer Blade 15 2080 max-q with a 144hz panel 1080p for the best laptop gaming experience in a 15 inch laptop.

A slightly less expensive version of my recommendation would be the 2060 rtx Razer Blade 15 with 144hz screen.

I hope this helps with your upcoming laptop purchase. I'm really 50/50 on the Blade Pro as a whole. It would be cool for a new version of the Blade Pro to come out but for the size form factor and weight consideration, the 15in Blade looks way more appealing to me and can't try one out some day.

For more portability:
Can't wait for the next version of the 13in Razer Blade Stealth model with a slightly powerful gpu, maybe a MX250 or something like that. ( Kind of hoping for a mercury white edition of the Blade Stealth too, loving that new silver white look).
I want a 17 inch razer blade/blade Pro with current gen or next gen hardware (CPU + GPU). What if razer went with a Ryzen 2000 or even 3000 series CPU with RTX GPU for the 17? That way we dont have to pay the infamous "Intel Tax" and razer can offer RTX performance without an outrageous price. With AMD Navi on the way, there might even be a RTX competitor for lower cost for the Blade 17. Having multiple user accessible storage options would be nice too. The current razer Blade 15 configs with RTX only goes up to 512 GB SSD, with a single slot. The 17 should have have at least 2 slots for storage drives. The SKUs could be 2 SSDs, 1 SSD + 1 2.5 inch drive with support for SSD, etc. Also, it would be cool to see razer providing a 17 inch laptop with an OLED screen, possible with touch capabilities. And the Razer Core with Chroma should either be brought back or updated to support newer GPUs and more ports on the back.

Such leaks, rumors may mislead other users and isn’t great for manufactures. Last time Gordon from pc world said Core x chroma use dual Titan ridge TB3 controller which is totally wrong, it’s actually Alpine Bridge. So just keep your eyes here for official one.

The pro model will not replace the 15 inch versions. It's a separate model. They each have separate price points as well.

Aside from the ethernet, SD card reader, and extra NVMe slot, it's a marginally bigger and heaver Advanced 15. Really surprised Razer did not introduce a 4K Pro model at launch, but then again, 4K 17" panels are not readily available in quantity. Still, it's impressive though that they managed to reduce the overall size down, but the marine is limited to a RTX 2080 MaxQ at best...definitely not the desktop part many where expecting.

Unfortunately I’ve no Blade pro experiences to test with egpu setting, seemly Pro gtx1080 has different TB3 configuration, my guess is since intel graphics is locked on most g sync laptop there’s some work around to be enable egpu setting and won’t work as easy as normal Blade and stealth model with optimus technology, hope on new pro they found the solution to enable it easier. Correct me if I’m wrong @Preystation you have this setting, if you’ve still 2 or 3 Cent lol.
Blade Pro won’t discontinue imo, it’s only less popular than other and refreshing not as often as other line but with this option on more “reliable“ price hope it’ll get more users.
BTW I’m with you about Pro unique features like lightning on trackpad, physical volume button, mechanical keyboard, g sync 4K etc feature that separate it from Blade 14/15, hope upcoming users or web review will show some unique features, like probably performance for having better cooling.
