Squeezing the Blade 15

[left]Hi all, so I have a few questions but firstly let me tell you what I have done.

I recently bought the blade 15 2019 advance model with RTX2070 max-q and boy does it run hot. So its undervolted and clocks were lowered to 3.5GHz with Throttlestop and the GPU has been overclocked as well using Afterburner which has been a god send on most games that utilize the GPU more than the CPU.

Temps on titles like resident evil 2 and doom were in the mid 70s to 80deg for both the CPU and the GPU. The issue is when games like KCD or Total war - Three Kingdoms, which are more CPU intensive, ramp up the CPU temps to late 80s/90deg and in turn increase the GPU temps to 82ish deg due to the vapour cooling. I have a limit on my Throttlestop of DTS 10 and 83deg

Now from what I see the 45w limit is in a good place and there's no need to try to get more out of the i7-8650H with the cooling capabilities of the blades 15 slim design BUT I do see a little head room for the GPU to be improved a little. hence the questions......

firstly synapse 3... I was under the illusion that going into gaming mode would increase the GPU core clocks but according to GPU-z I see no improvement other than the TDP is moved to the 45w limit. is this true?

thermal paste... has anyone got any experience with the stock thermal paste used in razers laptops. is it any good? has anyone replaced it with a high end paste like grizzly kryonaut? or even liquid metal? god forbid!

flashing the bios....ok so as stated I managed to overclock the core by 195MHz but im wondering if I manage to flash the GPU bios to take it from the current 90w limit up to the normal RTX 2070 notebook 115w limit will I still be able to overclock by another 195MHz OR will the slight increase of the bios TDP limits also be taken into account and the overclock reduced so the card runs at the same core speeds as before the bios flash. For example before the flash the core speeds on the blade 15 are 1080 + the 195 OC = 1275. after the flash (if it worked) the core would be 1215 before OC. now would I only be limited to a 60 OC value or would I still be able to OC it around the 195MHz mark.

any insights are appreciated.
