Swapping 1060 / 1070 Max-Q GPUs between 2018 Advanced 15" Blades?

My son has an Blade 15 Advanced (2018) with a 1070 Max-Q GPU. I have the same model with the 1060. I'd like to swap GPUs between the two machines? Is that practical? Is there a guide for doing this online somewhere? Thanks.

How about exchanging the entire unit? The gpu is soldered so you can’t swap it, but ssd if your work file etc stored on it, try to swap it it’s easy and I think it’ll boot since the rest hardware between those two are identical, i saw somewhere user did this. Not 100% guaranteed but worth a try imo.
