Interesting results, it seems that the RTX Max-Q gpus in Razer Blade are coming overclocked bringing them closer to the desktop versions.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Not-created-equal-Razer-Blade-15-RTX-2070-Max-Q-is-10-to-15-percent-faster-than-the-Gigabyte-Aero-15-X9.406211.0.html

It seems that they have managed to optimize the cooling with the vapor chamber in this version.
Hi, can anyone confirm, who has not the US Keyboard Layout, that the secondary function of the function keys have no backlight?
Videos from the CES 2019 show the Blade 15 in the US layout and the secondary function have backlit and this was mentioned as one of the great upgrades compared to last year.
I have received my German Blade 15 RTX2070 today and they have no backlit on the secondary function keys?!?
Even the support hotline was not aware of this and all pictures on their German website are showing a keyboard with backlit!!
This is quite a bad advertising.

It seems that this is the case also for every non-US keyboard layout, according to the following thread the UK layout model has the same issue as yours:

/razer-blade-15-advanced-uk-secondary-function-keys-not-backlit.46756/

This is indeed false advertising, and unacceptable from Razer side. I am quite sure that if this was happening in the US layout model someone would have already sue them. As I said no matter how good this Razer laptop is, false advertising is unacceptable.

So far I saw only US keyboard has function keys Backlight, UK user and I think French mentioned same thing. Germany Keyboard Layout is shown like this, same as uk site I believe, only us site that shows Backlight Fkeys. Even though on website advertising Video and slide show on the bottom page is showing Backlight on it. If it’s a trade off for you you still have 14 days to return.
@Joikansai, I do not believe that it is a matter of trade off. Here Razer advertises something that it does not respect and which might attract more buyers for their benefit, this is bad service. REALLY BAD!!!

I understand it, but CES is in US and they advertised it in english. A lot manufactures link only one video in their website in different languages, so buyer should also be careful before buying device that they want. I remember A brand laptop in us has TB3 with full PCIe3x4 lanes but not on EU model, and b brand sell online nvme ssd but on retail sata SSD. So as a buyer you have also selective nowaday, doesn’t meet your expectations or requirements then send it back. I did this with my past Razer Blade purchase as well.
one day ill get a blade, not really any need for it. but i want one!

Of course I have checked the whole german webpage. The picture you have posted before is the only one, where you can see no backlighting. But the left part shows the Basic Version of the Blade and it has backlight on the second function keys. So therefore the Pro Version, which cost up to almost the double price, does not have it????
If you want to know the technical specs, you have to read the data sheet and there you can find out differences between countries.
But if I can see the backlighted keys on any other pictures, than I can expect to get, what I see. And it is not written anywhere, that they do not have backlight!
Even so, what is the matter to bring it to every country?
I believe, you will get the backlight on the secondary F-keys in a half year, when they have sold out the 2018 keyboard in the 2019 Blade 15.
And I have got the drawback as an early adopter......

Yes it’s your money and you decide it. You’re not checking around enough, there’s already users experience sharing it on Reddit before, and you can call Support in Hamburg before you pull your trigger. I personally did such search before throwing my over €2K bucks.
I don’t care personally Backlight Fkeys, more simple is better i can change the color as I want to remind me the position if I want.
Base Model only have single area lightning not individual, weaker gpu, and old heat sink with other old Blade 15 hardware that what makes it in lower price tag and to be accurately it’s not basic it’s base model and and It’s not Pro it’s advanced model.

So, explain me why it is my fault that I have not checked enough around in not official threads? Is it not enough to read test, view reports and check the official material from the webpage about this model? Is it my fault that no german tech page has tested the german version? Even the support in Hamburg was not aware of the difference, when I have called them afterwards. And again, the base model has the backlit and I bet the Pro (Advanced) model will have it later this year, too!
And what if I would have been the very first user from the 2019 model? How can I read any other user experience, when I am the first one? Then I have to rely on advertisement and these were wrong! And even in Germany you can sue a company for wrong advertisement, but they know, nobodody would go that far for this minor issue.
And by the way, on the german webpage and translated into english it is basic and pro. This was even written below the pic you have posted before.

Really!? You can’t sue them. If you really understand german you know what this means.

And because “hoch“ german won’t write advanced and base, it’s english my man.
Will you guys upgrade the 17" version too? Because i REALLY like that one.

Yeah, you are right. You are definitively the expert. If I would get the same money from Razer like you do, then I would also believe all that shit you write. Do your research and become an adult, fanboy.

I searched the whole Site of the new razer blade 15" for any information about the keyboard. There is not a single time mentioned that the function keys are also illuminated, in fact there is a picture that shows the keyboard, with description as "profi-modell" where you can see that they are not illuminated.

So you say that you don't want to look for foreign reviews or articles that mentioned, that the function keys arent illuminated. Where exactly did you get the information from, that the keys of the german keyboard are illuminated? As i mentioned, it's not on the website.

There are couple videos directly from the CES 2019 Razer Showroom mentioning the backlight of the secondary F-Keys as on of the best „update“ to last year model besides new displays, GPU etc.
Even videos from first delivered tests mention this feature.

I have not said I do not want to look for foreign reviews. I have just asked, if it is my fault that nobody has tested the german version yet, so I could have a confirmation on this?
Where is the feature mentioned on the US website? It is only titled as „loaded with innovative features“ regarding the keyboard and it is the same translated in german. So in neither of them it is mentioned nor it is written that this feature is limited to the US only.
The premier presentation on the CES 2019 has increased the expectation to all interested customer to this feature to be introduced worldwide.

No its not. It's your fault to make wrong assumptions when the website shows, that the product doesnt have the feature you would like it to have.

Yes it has. But the first reviews have shown that not a single country, except the US, has this feature. And when you check the websites you will find, that they showed nothing else.

Am i sad that Razer doesnt offer this Feature for the german keyboard? Ofc i am. But it's nothing they promised to deliver, it's nothing they have shown for every country. It's not false advertising, it's just only shown in the pictures. You can blame then for that, okay. But when i make a purchase with a price tag that big i inform myself before that. And the lack of illumiated function keys is mentioned on reddit, in this forum and on every not american reviews (and on the razer website).

The US site never mentions in text that it is illuminated either. If you look on the UK website there are more pictures showing the whole keyboard being backlit and only one not showing it being fully backlit. It never mentions this is a US only feature.

When you scroll down to the part where the topic actually is the keyboard, everything is shown correct.

Ofc they could clarify that much better. But they never mention it as a feature, they show it correct in the pictures. And if you are really interested to buy one you can google reviews in like 10 secs where this topic is also mentioned.

Yes of course it was the US Version because it was an US Expo! Even when they would have showed it on a Expo in Taiwan they would have shown the US version to show that new feature.
And if I have made wrong assumptions because there are more pics showing the backlit compared to a single pic which does not show the backlit, so on what can I rely, if I would have ordered it on the very first day? The reddit entry was made few days after.
And the Razer website shows only one single picture without the backlit compared to five with backlit and mentioned nothing. Even the support in Hamburg had to admit and apologized for this failure.

And if you buy a car or something else with a high price tag, do you read all reviews from all countries??? Definitvely not!

Well, on the german website the first picture already says it is the Pro version with the backlit picture and there is one more later on the same page.

And in the end it does not matter, if you want to defend Razer for this.
In fact it is misleading advertisement and not allowed in germany. You can also not assume, that every customer has to read all reviews worldwide. The customer has to rely on the material he can find on the manufacturer website and makes his decision what to buy, when he can see what he can get.

Well if companies like Apple, Microsoft etc can light up the secondary function keys for all their markets then it’s reasonable to expect Razer to do the same (especially when they never explicitly say it’s a US only feature).

I did wait for reviews and this is the exact reason why Razer are not getting my money.

Yes, it is shown correctly in the keyboard picture, however it does not exclude the fact that there are more pictures on that webpage showing the full keys lit.

The fact so many people had to ask other UK users whether they are backlit or not, or the number of UK customers that were disappointed when they received their laptop and noticed this proves how confusing they made it on that webpage and how poorly they have advertised it.

You can rely on the picture at the description of the keyboard which shows clearly that the secondary functions are not illuminated!

So when Microsoft build in a floppy drive i can expect that vom Razer as well?

They didn't even mention the feature on the US site, they just show pictures. How can you expect, based on that, that the other countrys get that feature?

It’s not a floppy drive though is it? It’s a basic feature that even the base model has.

Anyway I’ve said my opinion. It’s clear that there is no reasoning with you so instead of going round in circles, let’s agree to disagree.

You’re entitled to your opinion but I will never understand why someone would defend a company that’s done something sh*tty like this and, who lets be honest, couldn’t give two flying f’s about you.

Have a good day.
Does anyone know or have any idea of when the 4K Touch screen option will be available for this new model? I can't find any info anywhere.
