DGPU is soldered but you can use egpu for upgrading to Rtx not full performance like on direct mobo but on some cases it out performs 1070 maxq. I play since BFV dxr Update already RT on my Blade, it’s on;)

Thanks but I use my Blade on my a laptop pillow on the sofa. So egpu is not really an option. But thanks anyway.

Yeah that things happen on nowadays Tech. You can costumize it with individual colors to help remembering like me, this is from my previous Blade 14, after getting used to, I can remember those keys placement even in very dark room, sometimes I don’t even look at keyboard.
If the blade has a 1440p 144hz screen, I'll not even hesitate to get one.
But now, I have to choose between high resolution and high refresh rate.
Not to mention, the High-resolution panel is not even purchasable in many countries.

Personally, 1440p and 4k are the same on a 15-inch screen, but I can notice the difference when it comes down to 1080p.
Hey, any idea if this new razer blade is going to offer gsync ?
That oled version looks sexy. May he by next version of gpu and cpu we will have 4k 120htz oled screen.
I would have love a 1080 or 1440 oled for this version at 120 htz.
The 4k oled with 60htz if there is no gsync not sure even the 2080 will allow to really use it.

It’s great idea, since now there’s already g sync optimus switching technology, back in old days, g sync is useless for portable gaming laptop for its battery killer, and couldn’t be used with optimus. G sync will also made Blade 15 capable doing 3 Monitor gaming like Project Valerie (optimus won’t let internal screen extending with external monitor on nvidia surround view).

From Ryzen mobile cpu, AMD only has quad core on their high end model right? So it’s still maybe stealth 2019 ultrabook performance class. And Vega 20 on MacBook Pro 2018 can’t also reach mobile gtx1060 performance on Blade 14 2017 or even late 2016.

Too bad that the 2070 and 2080 will be MaxQ.

Putting over 100tdp gpu especially 2080 that’s over 150watt plus other components like cpu etc will melt the Blade, and 230 watt ac adapter won’t supply it well. It’ll probably eat battery capacity, discharge it and will shut down on gaming even plugged on the wall. This is mobile rtx gpu and desktop version comparison. I believe non MQ/ maxq, would need really big ac adapter especially on 2080, it’ll against Blade 15 portability purpose. But on Pro 17 model if there’s any refresh, it may be possible to put full 2080 (mobile).

I don't think there are 1440p thin bezel displays. That's why we're not seeing them in laptops. So I think the options are gonna be 1080 or 4k. Personally I think that is a shame as I believe with the hardware we get in these laptops is kinda going to waste on 1080p screen.

What's funny is I finally went to the 144hz panel...and now with 2080 being available I may consider going to 4k. Why waste all that power.

You'll definitely get more mileage out of it. Even last generation with the 1070mq I would argue 1080p was kind of a waste. Plus since the higher the resolution you go the more it becomes gpu dependent. Letting those poor CPU's cool off lol.

I am curious about the 240hz panels. I've always been a slow adopter of high refresh screens. I still argue I can't see much difference on the desktop between 60 and 120hz. In game I do notice it being much smoother. Some people covering CES seem to be more or less losing their minds over the high refresh rate. I'd like to see real users give an opinion on it.

Wow! Amazing!!!
Anyone has experience with 4k 15" display. Do you really see the difference compare to 1080p?

One other thing that I am not sure for this razer is it s competition. Form factor was before exclusive to the blade, bit now we have a lot of thin 15 " gaming laptop.

I am curious to see how much will the competition cost and if the price difference will be justifiable.

In all the case, good job Razer, that a nice product.

May be we will see a blade pro with a 17 " screen on a 15" format:)
I clearly should have waited. Just bought my 2018 Razer 15 a month and a half ago.

In the PC world, there's allways something that will make you think that you should have waited.
But i think it makes this domain si much fun cause it never stops to impress me. Even when a new product becomes a flop, it brings something new.

One of these days I'll be able to afford a Blade. LOL
By the time I can, they'll probably be truly incredible with *everything* that all the power users have been asking for. lol
To be honest, at this point blade is already not missing a lot...
If by next gpu iteration we have a good oled 120htz 1080p or 1440p display, we should have a gaming laptop that offer really really good performance.
4k in a 15inch display just consume a lot of gpu power for very minimal noticeable benefit. New pcie protocole might also help enhance the performances.
This Razer is already good, it s just sad that Nvidia New gpu and Intel New cpu don't offer better improvement.
At least with the 2080 Razer version now available, we should see some real improvement compare to last year 1070.

Not sure when benchmark will be available. Looking forward to compare them. A 40% improvement is possible and that big!

Hello, I would like to have a Powerfull RTXOn laptop without fans or grills.
Same boat as RazerRanix, really curious people's thoughts/impressions of the 4k 15" display as I'm thinking of getting the Advanced 2070 configuration. I'm coming from a MacBookPro with retina, 2880 x 1800, which while not 4k is definitely higher rez than the 1080p, and I feel like going backwards is going to be noticeable, possibly annoying and eye straining. I really don't need the 4k, I'd be happy with something in between, but if those are the options, will most likely opt for 4k. Not much of a gamer but would primarily be using it for 3D design/animation and rendering. Thanks and appreciate any help.

Also, heard the battery life on the 4k is abysmal. Anybody have experience? Thanks again

It's finally here!!! Please release a Gunmetal Grey color option or an option for tone-on-tone logo! Either way, I can finally get an upgrade from my six year old ROG laptop!

Can you even afford it ?

Can you even afford it ?

I have saved up a very long time for a new laptop. So yeah I can, what makes you think I can't?

I was close to buying last year's Razer Blade 15 but decided to hold off for this one. Thankfully, the price stayed the same. I just wished that the Gunmetal Blade 15 came out, I wouldn't mind paying an extra $50 for it like the Mercury since it would look more professional.
