Question

CPU Usage

First time using S4 beta. doing nothing getting about ~40% CPU usage. (5900x) Seems like a excessive amount of things? why so many items. i saw many complaints of the same issues with S3 as well. is S4 not going to be any better? surely it should not take 30%+ cpu usage to run RGB… isnt the profiles and macros etc saved to the devices? i only have 2 mice and a bungee and dongle.

during installation and first set ups etc, i was getting 90% + CPU usage and it wasnt stopping, i had to restart PC to make it stop

Hello, I had the same problem, while not as strong as you, i managed to get it down to almost nothing, first of all if you are not using advanced lighting or chorma studio uninstall it, its a couple processes you get off from running, but the biggest fix for me was disabling some stuff in settings

here disable recomendations and notifications, notifications is like when you change dpi a popup shows, its a service running 24/7 waiting for input, if you dont use it, you can disable it.

This also adds a process checking for I/O inputs, if you dont use it, disable it, because its another service.

and last, this one, if you only use quick effects, go to control pannel and uninstall the chroma addon, more processes running that can be disabled.

and by doing all this, I got almost 0% usage at all times, notifications and chroma lighting are the ones who uses the most cpu, but if you can disable all, go for it.

And let me know what you did and if it fixed it.

Useful post. This new version really is a lemon if your have to turn off key features like lighting and Chroma Studio in order to minimise process load.

So 4 months now using the New Razer Synapse version and still no fix for this? I Have turned off all suggested and still have 16 Processes running and the New RazerAppEngine also does not shut down properly when shutting down in Windows 11, after I click shutdown the app hangs and pops up a screen that says its shutting down but the screen that pops up is only there for a few seconds, no harm I guess other than being really annoying, but seeing how this thread  is 4 months old I guess I wont hold y breath of this getting fixed anytime soon.

Same even with disabled recommendations
