Why so many processes and why is there an elevation service

I got my Basilisk v3 Pro delivered yesterday and G502 X Plus a few days earlier (cause I can’t make up my mind), so I brought my old installation of Synapse which wanted to install the beta for some reason. Now the question is, is this normal?

Cause if this is the new normal then I’m still within my refund period. Also what is this elevation service? Why software that makes my mouse glow rainbow and lets me bind functions to buttons needs to run as root? Not everyone has a monstrous laptop with 64 gigs of ram, and if every company was doing the same (running everything as a webapp within electron) then we would all easily be running 600 processes. G HUB takes maybe 5, compared to 20 if we include all chroma servers and sdks.

I uninstalled the beta and installed the good old Synapse 3, and I don’t see any functionalities lacking. Don’t get me wrong, I like Razer and their products, I was there with Blackwidow v1 or Diamondback, but future is not looking bright if this is the desired state of Synapse, and I had no idea when placing the order.

Anyone has any thoughts on how to contain this, excluding installing the old Synapse?

edit: old Synapse loses my mouse and just hangs afterwards, what the hell

Sadly Razer are incapable of writing quality software. This new version has been in beta for two years and is still buggy, unoptimised, and missing core functionality.
