Microphone very low on headset?

I bought the Kraken Mercury headset last year and I've got major issues with the microphone. Every setting is on max but it's still so low that it has to be in my mouth for anyone to hear me. It works great if its plugged into phone/PS4 controller etc. but get super low and static when plugged into my computer. I've tried using another splitter, but it didn't fix the issue. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you fix it? Love the sound and comfort of this headset, but I literaly can't use it because of the mic.
