Hello,
I've had the Tiamats for a very long time, couple years actually, and I enjoy them a lot. They're super comfortable and the stereo mode is great imo. I recently bought a sound card (ASUS Strix Soar) so I can use the 7.1 mode properly. The game I've been testing 7.1 mode on is Warthunder, going on a test drive, shooting guns and driving to properly tune the headset. I always feel as if I get it *just* about there, but never close enough.
Let me start describing the experience. When I turn on 7.1 mode, everything sounds terrible- somewhat quiet and like I am listening to the sounds on ear buds that are 3 inches away from my ears; tinny as some would say. This is the main reason I bought a sound card- because I heard it really changes the experience and makes the Tiamats amazing to use. Strix Soar is just the Strix Raid DLX without the dac amp and the DLX is a card that is recommended to go with the Tiamats, so I figured I should be good. Originally when I plugged the card in, I didn't have it connected to a PCIE power connecter as both where taken up by my graphics card. The Sound card powered on regardless and the sound hasn't changed a lick from my onboard audio or my old Sound Blaster Z card. "Okay, I probably should get an adapted and see if anything changes" I thought. Adapter came, plugged in, still same issue- nothing has changed.
I've tried messing with tons of settings, looking up problems to my issue for days now. Tried PEACE with settings to a guy who had a very similar issue to mine, etc. In the end though, it still sounds terrible. Specifically when there is speech- it's extremely high pitched to the point where it screeching and hurts my ears while everything else sounds just how I described it earlier. The only issue I do not have is bass, which sounds fantastic in 7.1 mode and is the main motivator on why I want to resolve this. I'll continue to search out solutions as I wait for replies.
