Oculus Quest 2 with Blade 15 Base Model (2019)
Would I see a marked performance improvement if I add the eGPU and an RTX 3060 to my laptop setup? specifically, will I see a performance boost using the Quest 2 with oculus link and steam VR.
Would there be a good reason to get the Chroma rather than the standard eGPU?
I had every intention to move to an eGPU and new graphics card at some point after purchasing my laptop a little over a year ago. the laptop, and eventually the addition of the eGPU, would replace my old gaming rig. I just got a notice from Nvidia the 3060 line of graphics cards will be available for order this week and now might be the time to make the leap.
I picked up the oculus quest 2 recently to replace my original rift my dog chewed up. bad dog! I had an older system that did a pretty good job with the rift running a ti1070. I have been able to get some of the older titles to work with the oculus link but some of the titles that I ran through steam VR are problematic if not flat out crashing. in particular, Star Wars squadrons doesn't seem to want to play along.
I don't mind spending a little bit of money and had every intention to purchase the eGPU and a new RTX video card when the cards become available.
