Deathadder Elite - default to button 6 and 7 instead of DPI change

Just upgraded to OSX 10.15 and Synapse is not supported. By default when turning on my Mac, the DPI change buttons reset to DPI change up until Synapse has loaded (and I presume told the mouse to change those button bindings). Is there any way to tell the mouse to always present those buttons as mouse buttons 6 and 7 without the Synapse software?

    I haven't used a Mac in forever, but is this something that can be done with shortcuts?

    As far as I can tell, unless told otherwise on boot by synapse, the mouse defaults to changing the DPI for those two buttons and doesnt send any events to the Mac
