Battery and charging issue

Overnight my Razor phone 2 stopped charging, when i checked and did the good old plug it out/ plug it in, it started to go in this cycle of charging and disconnecting every 2 seconds. Using the stock cable aswell. Plugged it into usb, although it shows the charging icon, it doesnt go past 1%. Did the battery fry or some software hardware issue? As it stands the phone is unusable.
