Is the Razer Blade 15 Decent?

After having the absolute WORST experience ever with Razer and the Razer Blade Pro a couple years ago, I distanced myself from the company and all of it's products. (Took 2 years of fighting with support, multiple complaints to the BBB, and never actually got a fully working machine. Even had to sell it "new" for a couple thousand dollar loss because I was just done. You can check my past posts if you really want to see.) Anyway, I am on the market for another machine, and as an engineer I want something that can handle any kind of load (probably upgrade to 32 Gb of RAM if not more) and be able to be used for any kind of ML as well as some hard core gaming. Can the machine handle it? I'm honestly on the fence between this, the top of the line Surface Book 3 (which has the 32Gb of RAM), and the Alienware m15 with the i9 and 32Gb of RAM for the same price and the top Razer Blade 15 (with 16Gb).

My personal opinions are if it was 2 months ago, I would have recommended you Intel based laptop. However since the launch of the AMD ryzen 4800 chip, the 7nm chip had overtook Intel 14nm chip by miles. It s not just a bit faster and cooler.. it is by far , A HUGE margin . Check out the reviews (example Asus g14) and their benchmark. You now have various options to buy amd laptop ultrathin with incredible performance on lightweight Ultrabook with amazing battery life.

Don't get i9 on thin light category it's wasting money since Intel CPU is too hot on this cassis can't maintain the full performance of it, and m15 is already known hot unless you disable or limiting turbo boost or repasting it at day one it will run on 90ish on intensive use, like gaming. Blade 15 2020 can handle thermal better. Just use extended guarantee or buy from some reseller with good service and refund policy like Amazon etc and I think you're good. OP want to upgrade 32gb RAM and with g14 half soldered ram it can only maxed 16 dual channel, and 2060maxq is mid range GPU, maybe not suitable for some hardcore gamers and you'll stuck forever with that.

If he can wait, within 3 months , we will way more powerful gtx2080 full performance models fitted with amd GPU. Intel has released the latest i7 10875 CPU which is 8 core and 16 thread but looking at the benchmark , the amd chips consume way lesser power and delivering the same performance output. Year 2020 will be a amd comeback year. So many amd laptops are completely sold out in Amazon and it's 2 months waiting period.
