Razer Core X Compatible with Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock?
Hey,
I'm looking to ditch my big PC set up and downscale to running from just my laptop with an egpu.
My laptop only has one thunderbolt port, so I was wondering if connecting my laptop to the dock, which is connected to the egpu (as well as all my peripherals), will have the results I'm looking for?
I'm not super savvy with this stuff so just wanted to confirm before I spent the money.

IntamasicaHi there. No core x or any egpu setting can’t connect through other dock it should direct connection to host laptop, so best scenario is using core x chroma or Razer core v2 that has io ports on the enclosure.

So the the EGPU cases with the ports would have to plug directly into my laptop and then a could I plug a Dock into that EGPU or are you saying everything would individually have to plug into the EGPU without a dock? Also, where does this leave my laptop charger? Which is USB C and I only have one thunderbolt port on my laptop.

Just did some research and looks like I don't NEED to charge via Thunderbolt (maybe shows how clueless I am).
So seems like I can just plug the EGPU in directly, but then it's just a question of plugging a Dock into the EGPU or needing it to do it individually for each device.
Hopefully you can plug a Dock into the EGPU?
IntamasicaYes if your laptop can be charged by usb c it’s only single connection to Egpu enclosure, you can plug anything like peripherals to io on Egpu enclosure like usb A usually.

IntamasicaWhich dock, razer thunderbolt dock? I can’t test it since thunderbolt dock is usb c connection, and most Egpu enclosure io are either usb A or Ethernet port, unless you find one with usb c on its io ports, usb c use more bandwidth maybe you won’t find any unless its from Apple i think they had one which was quite overpriced.

IntamasicaYes only ultrabook ( intel MacBook, dell laptops, blade stealth, book 13 etc that has thunderbolt port) but on gaming laptops like Razer blade 14/15/16/17/18 (now they’re a lot haha), you need to plug the power adapter as well since the components need more power. Razer core V2 is not produced anymore replaced by core x chroma.

JoikansaiI'm planning on working it with my Galaxy Book and upgrade once it dies. Shame about Chroma being the only option. Had my eyes on the white Core and have never cared about Chroma.
