Favourite movie based on a video game?

Well, I know most of them get a bad rep and a lot of things that work for the video game medium don't translate well to cinema, but we're all gamers here so we're bound to have some guilty pleasures. For me it's Prince of Persia: Sands of time. Don't get me wrong, I like the game infinitely more and it's not a flawless movie by any means, but I feel it managed to retain enough of the spirit and narrative beats of the game to be watchable, and at times even enjoyable.

Not many of them are very good sadly. Hitman and maybe Silent Hill are the better ones.

I feel it's also a lack of creativity for film directors. They just all seem to think you need tons of CG and massive over the top fake looking action and explosions and what not. They all look and sound the same. There's no real creation of the universe it's just copy and paste from one big budget film to the next.

Dude, watch the overwatch short films. THEY ARE SO GOOD.

I'll have to check out that trailer. I was raised on the 90s movies and the games.

Rampage may not be the best video game movie adaptation but I love it. The humor between Dwayne and the Albino Gorilla amused me. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

Definitely Prince of Persia! I've downloaded the game itself. Ngl, old school but it was epic. Resident Evil, Star Wars, Zombie Apocalypse and many more.

My favorites are Mortal Kombat, Assassin's Creed and Warcraft :wink_:

I love Silent Hill and Warcraft. I think they're really good.

Resident Evil: Extinction 2007, so far this is the best action horror movie that I watched for a a video game inspired zombie series, where you can say it's painfully predictable and a lot of bloods.

I love Tomb Raider, Warcraft, and Resident Evil. I like the adventures of these games and the combats.

One of the games that I enjoyed was Super Mario Bros. but I like most the video game than the movie.

To be honest I have never know that there were movies were based on games.

I like Assassin's Creed, Tron and Warcraft.
