Razer base station v2 - How to avoid reset

I set my Base station V2 to a static green colour, but everytime the laptop restarts, powers down or even if I lock the screen, the base station colour resets to the default multi flasing colours. I have to re login to app and change back everytime. Is there a way to have the colours remain static always/ can I connect the unit to just power not a laptop, as I only use the headphone stand and RGB element, not the usbs or audio functions. Thanks.
