How to Sync huntsman elite to Razer synapse

So I just got the huntsman elite and I tried to sync it with Razer synapse but it is not detecting it/won't sync with the software. Although I am using Razer synapse 2.0 not 3 because I'm on a MacBook. But I have a razer mouse as well that synced before but now they both aren't syncing with the software. Any reason why it may not be working and is there a way to fix it or sync them?? Because I want to edit my keyboard with the software because it looks really cool. Although I don't know why it's not working :(
