Nommo Chroma lights won't turn off with display

Even after checking the option in Synapse 3, the lights on my Nommo Chroma won't turn when the display is turned off or the computer goes to sleep. They don't turn off unless I physically turn off the speakers themselves. The support page says this was an issue that was fixed with an update a couple years ago but all my software is up to date and it's still not working. Has anyone else experienced this or have a fix? Thank you.
