Hello, I´m looking to buy a Razer Core V2 and I would appreciate your help with the right GPU to fit in. Since my laptop has i7-8656U proccessor. I´m deciding to not go with ny 20series GPU btu rather 10series. and even though the bottleneck is quite high I feel like the right choice is 1080Ti. Please correct me if I´m wrong. (Will be using external monior 1440p). So far my less pricey options are second hand gpu in warranty, since getting new 1080Ti is as expensive as getting 2080. But if you tell me that getting 2080 is worth it I might consider it.(But if you do please advice the appropriate GPU that would fit Core V2) My curent options are: EVGA GeForce Gtx 1080ti ftw3 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080Ti Gaming OC 11G ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080Ti 11GB-GAMING MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X 11G, 11GB GDDR5X According to the sizes all of them should just barely fit. But I will not have a chance to return it if it doesn´t. So I would love to have some confirmation. Many thanks. Edit: New Card enetered second hand auction - Added in here (the MSI is there for 500EUR)

1080ti Gaming x, ftw3 won’t fit, rog strix maybe also not fit on core v2. Look for dual slot and max 2 Fans card. Thought that ftw3 Evga will fit but a user reported it’s too long, so maybe you can’t close the enclosure.

So, this one https://www.google.com/search?q=MSI+GeForce+GTX+1080+Ti+GAMING+X+11G,+11GB+GDDR5X&ie=&oe= should be sufficient then since it has 2 fans?

No it’s too fat, 1080ti that i know fit is Evga Black, all kind of Blower Fan type will fit, of course Mini Zotac (i used this one over a year).

There seemss to be no Zotac Mini in my country... Too bad 2080ti is still almost £500 difference. Is there a downside of having 2080 instead of 1080ti? Of course excluding the fact that there is going to be higher bottleneck. I can get GIGABITE GeForce RTX 2080 TURBO OC 8GB for £620. It might still squize a little bit more performance even thought the bottleneck is higher right? Please excuse my lack of knowledge.

There’s no downside having 2080 it’s even slightly better and would be longer and better optimized than 1080ti. 1080ti only has more vram, that would be useful only if you play FFXV in 4K, there’s no dlss support on 1080ti and Ray Tracing capability if you’re care about those features. Bottleneck both around same, playing on higher resolution like 1440p or 4K would reduce it.

Than it is decided, that you very much. Well, Ray Tracing is nice, but there is not many games for it now anyways. All I want now is just to play most of the AAA games in nice 1440p and enjoy. And fot that purpose it should be more than enough hopefuly. Thank you for your time and answers.

Yes even 2070 can play RE2 Remake 1440p 100fps, Butter smooth, 2080 should be more, 2080ti overkill for 1440p imo, it’s 4K area.
