Will Razerblade 15 base model support 2400 ram

Hello,
Wondering if the Razer blade base model with the 1060 and dual hard drives will support 2400:
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232156&Description=32gb notebook ram&cm_re=32gb_notebook_ram-_-20-232-156-_-Product
Reason being is that the work I do benefits from lower CL. Speeds are negligible and 2400 is cheaper. If not I'll have to get this:
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233989&ignorebbr=1
Their site says 2666, but the i7 8750h says the 2400 should be supported. So i confuse
Thanks!

Of course you can use lower 2400 one, as long it’s sodimm ddr4 you’re good. And base model unlike advanced is really easy to get access to it since there’s no display cable over it.

JoikansaiThanks, 2 more questions+ 1. Can I easily swap out the HDD and add a 850 samsung ssd to make it my OS boot drive? Or do I need a special bracket 2. Is there a way around the 32gb limit through bios? This chip should do 64gb

Dracares1. You can clone original ssd that contain windows to HDD you want to add using macrium reflect, how easy depens on you but there’s a lot guide about that. 2. Nope it’s the motherboard Blade pascal gpu only support up to 32gb, want 64 you should get Blade 2019 with rtx card. Though it’s dual slot so 2x32 would cost half your Blade already.

JoikansaiMy plan is to put a 2tb 970 evo in the place of the current NVMe, and replace the HDD with a 850 samsung pro 500gb. So I'm stripping everything pretty much. I just want to use my USB with WIN 10 to install on the Sata SSD. Pretty much the same as I do with every notebook/desktop. Boot - Hold f12 or whatever key - Install WIN on SATA SSD and not the NVMe. Just want to make sure the SATA ssd is showing up. No problems with all that^ ? Also do I need a bracket of some sort for the SATA ssd? I would get the advanced, but a dual hard drive for the work I'm doing is imperative. Having windows on the NVMe is useless for me. I bet the next base model will have 2 NVMe slots, or they'll ditch 2 drives all together. Is there a non certified, custom BIOS work around for the 32gb limit?

DracaresYes I believe you can do that, make usb bootable and put Win 10 and allocate installation to 850 pro and make 970 Evo secondary, never tried that but should work. Idk about f12, on Blade usually esc button to call bios or when boot it’s automatically show boot option, I did on single slot advanced one so maybe on installation you should let nvme m2 slot empty first, then after installation slot it. No it’s motherboard limitation, only up to 32gb, slot it and it’ll recognize automatically.

JoikansaiOk great thanks.. Next upgrade will probably be razers tri screen if that ever happpens. I'll probably order in the next few days! Could you do me a huge favor and run Latencymon for 5-10 mins, using discrete graphics and wifi disabled? I'd love to know how it compares to the GS65. Latency is a big deal for me. If not no worries :)

DracaresI don’t have Blade 15 base and I’m not mucisian can play base guitar and organ though but never produce it on my Blade, I can run it on my advanced model if it’s okay.

Dracaresmy stealth iGPU (hd620) can run 1440p and even external 4K, I don’t see more powerful UHD630 can’t do that, the thing is that you have to use TB3 port to run iGPU since both DP and HDMI connects to dGPU, means you need native usb c monitor or adapter. Ah wait yes btw my 13 inch portable usb c monitor is 1440p hdr 60Hz, one cable (usb 3.1 v2.0, 10gbs) can run perfect without needing power separate power adapter for monitor.

JoikansaiYeah could you run latencymon on your model? Should be the same more or less. No I just want to run the internal GPU at all times to save battery life, if I use external monitors it will be plugged in. Can I disable the 1060 completely in device manager and only use internal GPU? I have no use for 1060, I wish there was a 1050 model for cheaper. I'm buying razer mainly for build quality, coming from a macbook pro.

DracaresIs this right? Dunno what that means, WiFi off, on dGPU (iGPU off), for service I gave you 12 minutes:smile_:

JoikansaiThanks! I meant to turn WIFI off and use your internal graphics while running the test. 77us n the top bar is good. Did you find it jumped around a lot or did it stay around 100us? You never answered - can you disable your graphics card in device manager and ONLY use internal graphics all the time?

Yes it jumps between 50 and 100 mostly sometimes but rarely to 400 and 20 ish.
It was purely Blade without anything plugged only ac adapter mouse and keyboard. I’m usually use nommo chroma, Razer Core with tons pheriperals plugged in to the core, is that matters? Tried with dgpu (1070mq) and egpu (2070) off only intel Uhd 630, some red Value popping up, didn’t see this when was pure Blade.

Thanks again, I'm sure it's just a driver. I just ordered it it will be here on Wednesday. If all is good I'll order the new drive and ram.
How can I find out for sure these ram will work? Razer support sucks and is not responding:
