Will the Razer Core X work with a laptop with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port?

I bought a laptop with a pretty powerful CPU just about a month ago. I want to upgrade it with a better desktop graphics card so I was about to buy the Razer Core X. However, I found out that my laptop doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 port and only has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Port (same design as the thunderbolt 3, so I can plug the thunderbolt 3 cable into the port). I am wondering if the Core X will still work with this laptop before I buy it.

    It won't work. The Razer Core X requires a USB port with Thunderbolt 3 support.
