I regret buying a Core X Chroma (please help)
Long time member, first time poster.
My PC:
Model: Lenovo yoga 730 15-IKB
CPU: 8550U
GPU: Intel graphics
Thunderbolt: Yes (2 lanes PCIe)
My story:
Buy Core X Chroma
plug in without a GPU to admire RGB,
- select always allow TB3 x2
- synapse install when prompted
play with LED's
- #noregerts
Install friends GTX 1650 Super to test it (my RX580 was in the mail)
Install NVIDIA Drivers
works flawlessly
- Destiny 2 was played and much fun was had for an hour or so
I don't unplug anything and I turn off my PC
unplug everything and put his card back in his computer (it works fine)
***Tomorrow morning***

eventually I find that I have to manually open the TB3 software on my computer for it to recognize correctly.
Unplug TB3 to try and figure out what order I have to do things in and how this whole setup works in practice.
I uninstall Synapse and Nvida drivers and repeat to make sure everything still works and it does work the second time I plug in the Core without any drivers or synapse installed
***My RX580 arrives***
Clean drivers with DDU in safe mode
install RX580 in the Core
plug it in and it's recognized as a generic thing in Device manager after synapse and thunderboldt controller install themselves.
RX580 is now recognized in Device manager
I attempt to install MSI Afterburner drivers and it was going well but after an automatic restart I was back to the issue of the card not being recognized.
I would often get an error that said "Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited"
Does anyone know if there's a certain way I need to disconnect the core or if I need to start it up a certain way? I was under the impression that it was going to be relatively hot-swappable.
Can anyone educate me so that I can stop regretting my de
