Wifi drops when connecting HDMI to external monitor

Ive been connecting my laptop to an external monitor fine for about 8 months. Just yesterday, my wifi stopped working everytime a HDMI was plugged in. I would be connected to the internet fine but webpages just wouldnt load up until i wiggled the HDMI cable a little. Temporary fix - i tied a rubberband around the hdmi end so the metal part isnt all the way into the laptop. Seems to work fine now.. If anyone has experienced this problem. Please help me out! Thanks

Hello, i just had the same Problem after Switching to a new WiFi router. I solved it by switching my WiFi Mode from 5ghz to 2.4ghz. This will likely fix your Problem too. Some other people had the same issue on other Laptops from other brands as Well and came to the conclusion, that the cable interferred with the WiFi Signal. One Guy went as far as wrapping Aluminium foil around His HDMI cable to fix this issue. From that i conclude that the Problem rather comes from a physical issue rather than a Software or Hardware related problem, meaning this is basically Impossible to fix, i guess ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ Some suggest to buy a Higher quality cable, but as stated, switching to 2.4ghz WiFi in your Laptop should already fix the Problem persistently. Sorry for poor english
