I purchased the Naga Trinity very recently, and out-of-the-box I found that lighting changes did not work when using one of the onboard profiles (i.e. Synapse 3 not running). Based on the issues you describe (which sound similar to mine) following a recent Synapse 3 update, it sounds like a defect may have been introduced. BTW, when the profile change indicator on the bottom remains white, I found that is by design when Synapse 3 is running. The colored onboard profiles are only used when the mouse is not connected to a computer with Synapse 3 or if Synapse 3 is completed exited.
