Kraken TE Microphone input not detected while Synapse is installed

Yesterday, I installed Windows 10 feature update 20H2 and noticed that the microphone input on my Kraken TE was not being detected by my system, despite the fact that it was enabled and selected as the audio input in sound settings. I could hear myself clearly through sidetone in microphone settings in Synapse, so I knew the microphone was working, but I couldn't hear any feedback from mic preview. I saw no input being detected in Windows sound settings or sound control panel, and could not record any audio in OBS. All audio outputs appeared to be working as expected. I tried running the troubleshooter in Windows, and after a reset of the audio services, microphone input appeared to be back briefly, but the same issue with the microphone would return once Synapse kicked back in after starting a game or opening OBS or opening Synapse or changing the audio output. Even quitting Synapse didn't seem to do the trick. However, once I uninstalled Synapse, everything appeared to work fine. Microphone input was detected by the system, OBS would record microphone input and system audio, and both game audio and chat audio outputs appeared to work properly. Unfortunately, this meant I could not use THX spatial audio, which was a major reason I purchased this headset. However, I would prefer to have use of the microphone than spatial audio. I have tried restarting the computer. I have tried repairing the Synapse install. I have fully uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse. I have reset the device to factory settings. I have unplugged and plugged back in the USB controller. I have uninstalled the drivers in device manager. I have done all these steps and the steps above multiple times to the point where the behavior is predictable. I cannot use the microphone while Synapse is installed, period. The only thing I have not tried doing is to reset Windows or restore from backup, which I would prefer to not have to do.
