Hello,
I'm trying to set up my headset that I just got today. I've followed the instructions which are pretty simple to begin with: register, plug it in, install Synapse 3 and THX Spatial Audio, enable THX through the Synapse console. I've done all this, but the problem I'm running into is this:
1. From what I see in other forum entries, this headset should have THX built-in and available, but trying to open the THX Spatial Audio app brings up a screen that says I can either do a trial for 15 days or pay for it. So I can't use the application to adjust THX. Or is this just an app for people who don't have a headset with THX included, and I shouldn't have installed it?
2. Leaving THX set to 'auto' in the Mixer tab provides a barely-there surround sound experience from what I can tell. It almost sounds like stereo - I can't tell the positional difference when clicking the 'Listen' button, and in games it does seem to work better but again, there isn't very much difference between front, side and back sounds. The default settings on the headset that this one replaced (a Razer Kraken) had a wider range of surround, and it didn't have any of the fancy THX stuff. Is there a way to adjust the dynamic range of audio somewhere? If so I can't find it.
3. In the Mixer screen, after turning on THX, the Gaming Profile only has 5 green 'speaker dots'. I'm assuming that's what those dots represent, the channels that audio is playing over. In other screenshots I've seen there to be 7 dots since it is in fact a 7.1 headset. I do have 7 dots if I switch to either the music or movie profiles. Is this not working correctly?
Including screenshots for examples.
