My Razer Blackshark v2 X Microphone is very quiet

I just recently purchased a Razer Blackshark v2 X (wired jack) from amazon and although the headphone quality is good, the microphone seems to be very quiet. I have tried changing it manually through third party apps, made sure the mute button on the headset was turned off, and tweaked with the actual Razer app itself. If you have any suggestions or fixes, please help!

    I’ve got the same problem but it’s only when it’s wirelessly connected, when it’s connected to my controller via the cord it sounds really good

    I have to same problem (Blackshark v2 X USB) - mic output is max about 10%, while the level setting is 100%.

    I have tried everything.
    Please help.

      For anyone seeing this in the future, I searched for ages for ANY POSSIBLE solution to this, and nothing worked until I did this (Windows only):

      1. Download Equalizer APO (free, lightweight software).
      2. Checkmark your microphone in the Capture Devices section of the Equalizer APO Device Selector (should open automatically after install).
      3. Close the Device Selector.
      4. Open Equalizer APO Configuration Editor.
        1. If a warning appears asking to open the Device Selector, choose no. 
      5. In the device dropdown in the top right, select your microphone in the Capture Devices section.
      6. In the main view, enter 20.0 dB for Gain in the Preamplification section.
        1. You can manually type in numbers greater than 20 if you want it louder.
        2. You should also be able to test how much this is boosting your mic in real time by checkmarking the “Listen to this device” in the normal Windows microphone properties (where you’ve undoubtedly already looked for the normal built-in microphone boost option, and found it missing).
      7. Close the Configuration Editor.

      Your microphone input should now be sufficiently boosted. You can test it out with the “Listen to this device” setting in Windows, or just use the Windows Sound Recorder app and record a test.

      It’s utterly ridiculous that so many people have had this issue, and nothing has worked to solve it except some third-party software, and Razer still remains completely silent on the issue (kinda like their horrible microphone). For $60 MSRP headphones, this is completely unacceptable, and really puts a damper on Razer’s reputation in my mind.

        You’re so goated i have been struggling all day for a way to boost the mic’s volume, this is the only thing that has worked.

        Hello,

        Bumping this because it seems like a COMMON issue with the Blackshark V2 X wired.

        I am having the same problem, the mic input is just barely audible even with the windows mic set to 100% and it set to 100% in a program like Discord.

        The Blackshark is wired to the extension cable it comes with that is then plugged into the back of an MSI Meg motherboards’ mic and line out jack. Audio works great from the headphones, its the mic that is problematic.

        All Realtek drivers appear to be the latest…

        Any ideas?

        Same issue, Works fine on Xbox but just doesn’t work on Windows 11 PC.  It did work fine on Windows 10 though.  I tried the fixes i found elsewhere and it’s now borked up the Razer 7.1 surround sound app… can’t see it to set it to default… every “fix” seems to make other things worse.
