My Razer Viper mouse won't take a charge

I’m having 2 problems with this mouse.

First one is that when I put in on the charger, I have to fiddle with it for 2 mins to get it on just the right spot until  it switches from flashing red to shifting between the non-red colors

Second problem is now it wont even take a charge despite seeming like it should. The colors on the mouse seem to indicate its charging. 

Can anyone provide some help?
