Synapse 4: Motherboard added without user input

New custom built PC. Added Synapse 4, connected my Tartarus V2 and it was the only device that that I added. Played with it for a day in 5 games. Razer account is one that I have had for a while. Software started automatically every time Windows did.

2 days later I noticed that a new device is added. A motherboard. I get a prompt it was added through the cloud. But I never did. Asks me to sync but I decline. When I look text it shows a different motherboard type.

From that moment issues arose. I got an error whenever I log into Windows. I thought it was another software. But when I closed/exited Synape 4 and re-opened it I got the error.

This is followed by my CPU idle temperature rising 15-20 degrees as the CPU is apparently been kept busy.

I’ve started getting the exact same issue myself. Seems like a recent update is confusing my motherboard with the B550 Taichi Edition.

Looks like they removed the hardware. Resolves the issue with driver and CPU load.

It's back

And now it's completely back and affecting the CPU again. Keeping it active, causing my idle load of 36 degrees to rise to 55-60. No option to remove it

IMO the best you can do is to submit a feedback (bug) via Razer Synapse. Click on your profile icon (top right side) and → Feedback.

You can also try using older Synapse 3 software to check if it’s only happens on Synapse 4 or both have the same problem.

So I've gotten confirmation that Razer is now aware of this issue.

One of their suggestions is to uninstall Synapse 4 and then reinstall it.

Little update for those that end up here through a search engine result.

Our Software Team is still investigating the issue on their end and the issue has been acknowledged. We require that you keep your Razer Synapse up to date. We are unable to provide an estimated date for the update fix because the issue will be fixed in future updates.

I’m having the same problem. My Motherboard is an ASROCK Steel Legends B650E wifi. I’ve been having problems with my case and fan LEDS flipping out and flickering like a haunted house. I thought it was Windows 11 updates doing it until I noticed that Synapse was automatically adding the “Taichi Razer edition” motherboard to its list of devices.

I’ve tried to remove it from the device list, but it just gets added back automatically. The best work around is to create a custom Chroma lighting scheme for the motherboard and use another program to control your LEDS. It works because you can’t edit ARGB LEDS with chroma, so it defaults them to being “off”. The only problem is that Synapse reverses your red and green colors and even with that work around it messes with the other program, e.g., Asrock polychroma.

So yeah, real fun. Please fix this mess, Razer.

Exact same problem occurring with an ASRock B550M/ac board being wrongly added as an ASRock B550 Taichi Razer Edition.  There was no board listed before and ASRock’s Polychrome ran my case fans fine.  Now Razer decides to take over and bungles most of my lightning.  No option to remove the board from Razer, or correct their inaccurate labeling.  I even tried to uninstall the Chroma portion of the software and it’s being stubborn, so I could try to just use Razer Synapse for my Razer keyboard.  After restart it still shows Chroma in the taskbar menu and still shows the Taichi board.  And is still messing with my case fans.  I wish Polychrome would control the keyboard, I’d uninstall Razer software entirely.
