Razer Barracuda X 2021 Poor Sound Quality

Hey peeps, 

Today I have gotten myself the Barracuda X 2021 Edition, sadly the 2022 Edition was not available.

To my dismay the Headphones have absolutely poor sound quality.

I have fiddled with options, settings, drivers, apps, mic on and off, and connection variations (usb-c, direct usb, 3.5mm) for hours, but the headphones just are not changing.

I have also tried to connect the headphones to my phone and Switch, with the same results.

Mainly the sound comes off as rather flat and ‘same-y’ if it makes any sense, as if they were some 20 year old call centre headsets.

No matter what I did the headphones are really bad, absolutely no bassline, and it sounds rather ‘distant’ like I am listening from a speaker. They are lacking any depth to the sound whatsoever.

The Mic levels are also very low, and no matter what I did they could not be enhanced.

If it is of any need, one thing I did notice is that under properties, although being shown as Barracudas, the are also being shown as Generic USB(?) Headphones.

Anybody have any suggestions? I suspect some faulty hardware, but still could be a user error.

So you have tried updating the firmware? What about motherboard BIOS updates or firmware updates through windows updater? Also try different USB ports. If none of this works, u might just need to contact Razer Support. Have a great rest of ur night!
