Hi,
I have a Razer Blade Pro 17 (2022) laptop, and I’m planning to upgrade its RAM from the current 32GB DDR5 to 64GB DDR5. During my search, I found two options for Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM:
-
Corsair Vengeance 32GB (1x32GB) DDR5 SODIMM 4800MHz CL40
-
Model: CMSX32GX5M1A4800C40
-
Price: €72 per stick.
-
-
Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 SODIMM 4800MHz CL40 Kit
-
Model: CMSX64GX5M2A4800C40
-
Price: €169 for the kit.
-
I went with the 1x32GB option and bought two sticks to save some money (total: €145). Both products seem to have the same specs:
-
Frequency: 4800MHz
-
Latency: CL40
-
Voltage: 1.1V
However, I noticed a difference in the product codes:
-
1x32GB stick: CMSX32GX5M1A4800C40
-
2x32GB kit: CMSX64GX5M2A4800C40
My Questions:
-
Is there any significant difference between buying two 1x32GB sticks versus a 2x32GB kit in terms of performance or compatibility?
-
I understand kits are factory-tested to work together, but will I still get dual-channel performance with two separate 1x32GB sticks?
-
-
Could there be any issues with compatibility if the two 1x32GB sticks are from different production batches?
I’m expecting to get 64GB of RAM and dual-channel performance after installing them, but since DDR5 is relatively new, I wanted to ask for advice from those with more experience. Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions!
