So, ever since the new synapse update rolled in a couple of weeks ago, I’ve encountered several problems with the headphones that honestly drive me mad.
1. Whenever mic monitoring (sidetone) is turned on, the overall volume of EVERYTHING becomes 50-70% quieter (there’s also a short ringing/interference noise when this option gets toggled, for a couple of seconds). Games, youtube, any tabs, suddenly reduce in volume even though the system volume has stayed the same. This DIDN’T happen on the previous version of synapse. It is incredibly difficult to talk without mic monitoring, and I don’t wish to increase my volume to almost a 100 just to hear things. (This issue gets fixed when mono audio in windows gets turned on. Idk if this helps but yeah)
- Whenever I open the microphone tab in synapse, it asks me to set it as default. Thing is, both the microphone and the headset are set as default devices in windows. So if I set the mic as default by clicking on it in synapse, and then go to configure headset audio, it then asks me to turn that as default. Like. Both of them can’t be default at the same time. I don’t know whether this is a bug, or whether synapse can’t have both of them as default, or whether it doesn’t think they’re defaulted in windows.
This is happening on my laptop. Completely disabling the in-built microphone/speakers is not an option as I don’t game/use my laptop with headphones most of the time.
